qfx j-21u

stuck.in.the.80s - 2013-12-01 20:54

I'm new to this computer thing, and this is the first thing I've ever joined. but i had too,

when i found out that other people out there has the addiction with boomboxes and

radios the same way i do. and then i found this site the same day i got my qfx j-21u.

what a piece of crap! and i love it! hahaha,

I loved the looks of the thing and I new what I was getting for my thirtyfive bucks ,

although it is smaller than I thought it would be (I've heard that before)

It has decent sound for how small the speakers are. but of course not a lot of bass . but if you keep it low and turn up the bass, its ok to fair. It would be a great desktop radio, not taking up much space.

way cooler than some modern space age stuff they got now. (but I am stuck in the 80's so to each their own) The X-Bass and the 500 watt stickers are too funny. The switches and knobs seem really cheaply made so I'd be

easy on them. Mine makes a click in the middle of the tuning box wile I'm turning the tuning dial. who knows what that is, sounds like its going to brake someday but not today so I'm ok with it. But the radio works great. my house is a dead zone and this thing pulled in channels that comes in bad on other radios. cool. I do wish it had a AUX. port cause I missed the hole usb/card stuff cause I went from cd's right to an Ipod classic (I hate touch screens) that the wife bought me last year.

And I don't need to learn any thing new damit!......anyways ... And it only takes 4 d batteries! that's wicked awesome!

(yes, I'm a masshole) So here's the funny part. I open the box up and pull out the radio like a kid on christmas day, and as I'm looking my new toy over, I see that

the right top tweeter (is there really a tweeter in there or is it a fake look QFX is going for) is flopping around inside behind the chrome outside cover! I start  to panic,

NOOOOooooo! ITS BROKENNNN! how can i send it back! can I get another one?

I don't want my money back! I WANT MY RADIO! WHAAAAAA , OH wait, what's this?

I notice that the thin plastic chrome dome that covers the center of the tweeter/speaker had come off the center, but there was one still in place. this was just an extra one that must have been stuck to the other one and fell off after it was put together.hahahaha  That is so cheese. really? hey, QFX what are you guys, sleeping on the job over there? for the love of all that is holy, take some freaking pride in what you do!.... so after I drink few P.B.R."s and calm down, I decide that I'm not going to take

this thing apart. So I go get some long thick tweezers and put them on the grinder

and put a bend in them and stick them down in between the chrome thingy and pull the little chrome dome out ... and then the sun came out and all was well in the world again. I hope all of you enjoyed my story, hopefully my spelling isn't that bad. I don't know how to make spell check work on this thing called the computer.

All in all, I think it is a fun radio worth the 35$ it cost me . see ya!

The 80's are a great place to be stuck

Welcome to the forum...you need some nice vintage boxes too to show you how much cooler they are than a QFX repro
