Just got a JVC 9475 - have a few questions

missionslang - 2012-09-03 20:22

Hi I just bought a really cool looking JVC 9475 boombox circa 1975 and I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the manual, schematics or any documentation related to this beautiful boombox?

My second question is whether anyone could recommend a place where I can buy parts for this model?

Thanks!

Hello, and welcome to the forum, here's a copy of the sales brochure with info and specifications on your box. I believe members agentorange and claret badger own the same model as well, so they can probably give you more info when they're on.

How is this model different from the JVC RC-717jw ?

Thanks for all the responses.  Does anyone have those clip on stereo mics pictured on the pamphlet?  Does anyone know where to get them?

i ordered new belts for the 9475 and I am trying to replace the main big belt.  however, since the original belt had already broken and fallen off of the mechanism, I have no record or idea how exactly this belt loops around the wheels.  I bought the service manual but it has no images as to how to loop the main belt around the wheels.  Since there are several users who have this boombox I am hoping that perhaps someone could take a look at the picture I have attached and maybe explain or draw on the attached picture as to how I loop the big belt; its the one that is loose in the photo.  Thanks so much for all the input and help.

once had a 9475 with original carry strap, way before i was able to do re-belts,and the belts were shot on it,so i swapped it on for something else, its a shame as i can do belts nowfrom the look of it,the flat belt goes round the main flywheel, touches the first smaller wheel on its right hand side and goes straight up to the motor spindle, then a smaller belt runs from the top section of the main flywheel and goes around the second small wheel, very similar to my 8080 hitachi,if i recall....when the belt arrives, carefully lay it on like ive said without the power on and turn it manually and see if the spindles etc turn correctly.....this may give you an idea if my theory is correct-good luck
