Thank you RETRO for the pics of the catalog!

I just bought this boombox Yamaha CC-101 and was searching for this info!

I am really happy for now

retro - 2013-01-13 05:35

No problem, are there any noticeable differences with the CC-101?

I do not think so. It looks the same in all. One difference - it was made for the japan's market. Here is my baby, I  bought it in japan's yahoo market and during 5 days no one bid it! I was the first and the last one  five minits till to the end of the sale I have Happy day today

Hi driptip,

Well to YAMAHA CC-101 or PC8 there is no so big and deep of the Bass sound as to Toshiba RT-S98 MacKenzie, that is normal becouse MacKenzie is real "Die all life around" otherwise sound is wonderfulclear and the mechanism is very smooth and quiet. Today I received the package, now I'm lucky. It remains to find a service to repair the tape drive. Everything else works great. Here are some pics for your catalog

There are bit more, perfect speakers sistem box by YAMAHA, called YAMAHA CC-101S,  made of the wood, no plastic at all , there is no plastic sound as to many other Boombox! Exellent quality of the natural sound! Note, the name  of the Boombox, on the front side is YAMAHA CC-101 but if You'll look at the back side you 'll find  +"C": YAMAHA CC-101C  .        Raised handle locks up the top pin of the speakers, they can not come off. If you'll put the handle, the speakers are removed if they pulled up.

Speakers clips (pins) -  push and turn - fixed out. Push and turn the other way - fixed inside.

Well, i found the original instructions. Full version of the instruction on the link, it is in Japanese, but you can understand the main points in
For those who need English notes and hints for the PS-8 can also display. it is. The main difference is that there are three versions of this device, with short waves to the external market and no short waves to the external and internal.

My guess Sergey is the the 1,2 switch is for Beat Cut on AM stations. See this link

AFC according to your instructions is Auto Frequency Control and works on the FM band. What that does is beyond me

sergey - 2013-02-10 22:14

Here, the comparative pictures of the issued recorders. The main difference on the presence of the short waves in one version or the presence of the noise reduction for the radio range of other versions

Fantastic thread, great add, great pics, great info

reli - 2014-06-16 06:50

Excellent pics.  I love the little window allowing people to see the tape head reversing.

Why is there a round piece of wood inside the back of the speaker box?  It is too far from the speaker to touch it, so it serves no purpose.

I too admired the clever window to see the rotating head.

And was about to ask the same question about the round piece!!

Looks like this box has pizeo tweeters?  Do they produce noticeable sound if you put your ear up to them?  Many pizeos produce no sound whatsoever.
