please be careful about an ebay c100f listing

redbenjoe - 2008-04-18 19:32

some weeks ago -- i bid and won this exact box at a decent low price --but when i went to pay --the listing had been canceled with NO ebay records and no way to pay --a week later - the seller sent me payment instructions for a different address/name-

--so my advice is to inquire alot more -- or just forget it !

Thanks Ira, I was watching it closely.

ohboy now that you mention it I do believe I've seen those pics before also, I'm surprised I didn't catch that.

not stating that this is a bad seller - YET Smile
and this one may end up to be a great deal at less than 400 --
buts its way too iffy for me.

well you can see feedback not that great

Dang!!!! I was just looking at that listing about an hour ago. Thanks for the warning!!!!

I've been seeing a lot of C100Fs on ebay recently and I agree perhaps I should be more careful about them as some of them are somewhat fishy.

This must be the most popular vintage boombox out there. They must not be rare because I really do see quite a few of them. They must've made a lot of them back in the day.

One thing for sure is I wouldn't pay over $600 for one or any box for that matter. Sure, the Conion C100 is beautiful box but I would say $300-$400 for a fully working one with mint cosmetics seems resonable, $500 at the most.

Ira, so did you pay for it? whats the latest? did you heard again from the seller?

redbenjoe - 2008-04-19 14:01

no , driptip -- i never lost anything on it --

its just that when the seller sent me an email about a week later - and asked me to send the money to a different name ---i just ignored it and i never responded or paid ---

so - its all like nothing happened Smile

redbenjoe - 2008-04-21 18:03

that one was removed from ebay -- again --

so if you want a good c100f -GET THE TA conion -its on ebay NOW -- ok Smile

It's a different seller this time. To much going on with this box, this one has stay away written all over it?

thafuzz - 2008-04-21 21:19

Is it me? I cannot comprehend anything they state in the description portion. The grammar & spelling is FUBAR! Mad I think these are kids playing around on eBay. Kinda like when I respond to these 911 hangup calls (kids playing on the phone). Wish I could just use my pepperspray sometimes. I must be getting ready to start. Leaving

The only thing that make any sense is the $2,000 PayPal protection.
