I've worked on it before, its cheap and chinsy, and sounds like a turd because of substandard speakers........I own a 935, and sounds pretty good in the headphones, but just ok using its speakers.....they surely are no M90 or even a good sansui.

That is what makes this a dynamic site, everyone has an opinion on what they like, how they perform, and overall, how much one is willing to spend on those criteria.
And on a side note since you are relatively new to the site:
I get more praise from my TRC 931 then my 777...
And its true about this being a dynamic site. I for one, do not like 3 piece boxes and I have a hard time considering them as true boomboxes. Never did like them in the 80's and now. To me it felt like your walking around with a living room stereo. I'm sure they sound great...Thats just me.

kittmaster-yes this site is great-i love it but im not all that much newer on this site than you.im not saying it sounds as good as a m90 or even close-im just saying over all its got a very very popular look to it and alot of buyers on ebay are more familiar with the lasonic 931 than other boomboxs-wheather there cheap made or high end is not my point.its not whats a boombox worth-its how much is someone willing to pay for it.its a ghettoblaster-im from the ghetto and there was alot more people that bought the lasonic than a m90-in the ghetto we bought what was cheap.the lasonic is a true up and down ghettoblaster.it should have sold for more just because of its history not because of its sound.peace.gb4l.

Having owned both the 931 and M90, I still am enamoured with the trc-931. It just looks so BAM! Sure the M90 hits like a train, but the 931 wasn't terrible, infact I liked the sound a lot!
