I'm not sure. I have a feeling they are a bit shorter, but I dont have one on hand to compare. I was made an offer I couldnt refuse for my GF-9XX collection, so they are all gone.

Maybe you could measure one and tell me - collapsed and extended would be good.

I have been tearing the house apart trying to find the damn tape measure but cant find it anywhere.

Look, from memory I seem to recall that the 505 antenna is a tiny bit shorter than the 7XX/9XX ones, but it would do the job in a pinch and aside from have to extend the tip a little to clip is down, I dont think you would notice the difference...

I dont actually have one for parts, but I can get my hands on a complete, working unit (GF-508SB - the jap equiv).

Let me know real quick if ya want it.
