Panasonic RS-466s

hothitsdx - 2008-05-27 12:35

I just obtained a vintage Panasonic RS-466s boombox at an estate sale. It is in perfect working condition. After testing the recording quality of the cassette and the FM reception, I am considering keeping this unit, unless someone is eager to purchase it. Since I have 1/2 dozen other boomboxes in my collection, my wife would be happy if I sold it. Let me know if you would like to see pictures of it, and what you might consider offering for this boombox.
The features are impressive:
1. Very sensitive AM and FM tuners, with a second knob for fine tuning.
2. Line IN and Line OUT RCA jacks.
3. Nice telescoping antenna.
4. Decent recording quality
5. Meter for SIGNAL, BATTERY, and VU while RECORDING.
6. Separate volumes for left and right channel (that's kind of stupid)
7. I believe this unit was from 1978.
8. Separate MIC inputs and Internal MIC.
9. Tape counter
10. Stereo/Mono selection
11. 1/4 headphone input
12. 2 different AC adaptor outputs along with standard AC plug.
I accept Paypal only. E-mail inquiries to mail@stevemcvie.com

I'll be auctioning off this boombox on Ebay beginning this weekend and will start bidding at $59.

No harm intended in your offering, there is one of these units at shopgoodwill.com for 16.00 right now

hothitsdx - 2008-05-31 10:54

Thanks for the information. I also saw one on Ebay that went for $59. I will try to Ebay this one and will try to start at $51. We'll see what happens.

I checked out the goodwill.com auction and it still has some time until bidding is closed. I also noted that the tape deck has not been tested and is being sold as is. My unit has been completely tested and the tape deck is working very well. I am impressed with its recording quality from both off air and the line in jack.
Nevertheless, I really like the goodwill.com site. I never saw that one before.
