Sanyo 920 for trade

vladi123456 - 2008-05-26 12:49

Just wanted to see if anybody would be interested Smile

Sanyo 920 is a fine box, but it pales next to BigBen sound-wise - every time I'm in the mood for some Sanyo action - I grab BigBen. I've only touched my poor 920 only 3-4 times since I got it, and it deserves much better!

As far as trade - I would like something in the same league as 920 - hi-endish Smile

sikorsky - 2008-05-26 13:18

Vladi, sell me one antenna from your box

vladi123456 - 2008-05-26 13:40

Mike, if I start selling bits and pieces - then nobody would want to trade!!

skippy1969 - 2008-05-26 14:53

Hey Vladi, please check your P.M..... Cool

thafuzz - 2008-05-26 15:16

Vladi, you got a pic of it?

vladi123456 - 2008-05-26 15:23

Scott, response sent!

THAFUZZ, I'll take some pics tonight and will post them on here. For now - here's a link to the auction where I got it Smile Sanyo 920

Yes - this model is for the modern sophisticated law enforcement officers who like to ride in Chargers and describe themselves as *adventurous*, so if this is you - well, you know what to do - send me all of your boxes!! Big Grin

valdi, this's a good bbx~!!
i think most of the S2Ger want it Big Grin

sikorsky - 2008-05-27 00:45

Vladi, I think the best way to trade or sell it - is change the antennas to NON BROKEN (may be not original) and selling one non broken original antenna to me. I strongly recommend you to do this! Wink Do this and you will save the world

redbenjoe - 2008-05-27 05:43

the 920 is even better looking up close , than in this photos --and the sound is all quality

whoever gets it -- is lucky.

vladi123456 - 2008-05-27 07:25

Thanks guys!

I think I'm going to put it on ebay with $0.01 starting bid and sell it as is for whatever it sells - lately I've been working about 14 hours a day, and I simply don't have any time to deal with a repair.

And as far as trade - I will have a very cool Hitachi for trade - probably tonight - I just need to take some pics Smile

ash25 - 2008-05-27 17:44

Vlad I am surprised you dont like the Sanyo. Do you really like the MX960 better?

ned.209 - 2008-05-27 19:24

sell that mofo. itll attract some hardcore cash.

one of the bigger boxes that is qualitay.

vladi123456 - 2008-05-27 20:57

Ash, ya, I think BigBen sounds way better - better highs, and of course the sub! In my collection I think BigBen is second only to M90 sound-wise. What is your opinion?
Ned, we'll see about serious cash - I'll have one empty shelf after I sell it, so I'm sure whatever I get for it will be spent promptly on some other box Big Grin

masterblaster84 - 2008-05-27 22:20

Wow Vladi, you were so hot for the 920 at one time. Sounds like you got your fill, Wink sometimes the hype and desire are to much for the actual box to live up to. I think we've all been there but I'm sure the 920 is still a really cool box, heck it looks great.

Don,
Ya, after comparing it to M90, BigBen, Panasonic 5350 and such - Sanyo 920 sounds just average. Of course it will blow out of the water the average boxes, but I hardly have any left.
So I might actually start saving for Aiwa 880! By the way - you've never gave the review! How do you like yours? Big Grin

Vladi, as usual there is a story behind the deal because not all was as described.
Before I can give a review of the 880 I'm going to have to fix it, yep you heard that right. I'm not to happy about the fact that it has an issue not described by the seller, no shocker there. It looks great and the tape deck works although it has a scuffing noise, I'll work on that as well. The amplifier has an issue, the bass is weak and distorted. Mad I believe this is likely due to a bad capacitor or several since that is a common symptom of a bad capacitor. That means I need to re-cap the radio so no review for a while. Frown Other than the issue I like the box.

Hey I'm getting the impression the sikorsky needs a 920 antenna, I'm not sure but that's the impression I'm getting.

sikorsky - 2008-05-28 08:14

Ok, ok, mista! Smile
I'm waiting, my friend, and hope for the best Wink

vladi123456 - 2008-05-28 09:52

Don, Sorry to hear about your Aiwa!! It seemed like a great box!!

And too funny - I get the same impression about the antenna!! Big Grin I think I'm going to take my 920 to the repair shop and see if the guy can fix it. I just don't think it's anything serious - everything worked fine when I got it - so hopefully it just needs a contact cleaner bath or something as simple as that Big Grin

masterblaster84 - 2008-05-28 11:39

I'm not really upset about the 880 even though I paid well for it. It's a fairly hard to get box so I'll fix it and be happy. Smile

Your 920 looks cool but it's just not on my short list anymore otherwise I'd be PM'ing you. Wink

sikorsky - 2008-05-28 12:56

No impression, guys.
I just need one original antenna, that's all Big Grin
