Decline era special for you vertical cd bbx collectors

panasonic.fan - 2008-04-28 19:43

There aren't too many of these out there. I can't vouch for this particular model, but I would imagine that there is a collector that digs 'em.

Magnavox boomer.....

The CD next to the cassette is certainly a cool design...

Are these really that strong as a collectable to get that price?!

I guess I learn something new every day!!!

Well if you do the math that was 18 years ago... Probably made quite well as were alot of CD players back around that time...

quite tempting....

I like the Radiola version much more...
it looks elegant:

There was one of these on ebay uk £10 a few weeks ago bin, the phillips type, i was thinking of buying it but im more selective now as i have to many boxes.

retro.addict - 2008-04-30 10:37

By jove, that's expensive for a crappy '90s box. Eek I wouldn't pay that much in a million years, vertical CD player or not! No No

panasonic.fan - 2008-04-30 13:40

It may not be your cup of tea (or mine for that matter), but the vertical CD boxes are unique.

Just looking out for those who drink that flavor of boombox Kool-Aid Cool

Its an ok box but nothing compared to the rx cd 70,. now thats class

panasonic.fan - 2008-04-30 14:45

Classy looking? Yes.

ned.209 - 2008-04-30 15:42

Wich one is that ned? is it that long phillips with twin tape on the front with vertical loading cd? if it is i had one probbly the longest box ever made but the sound was crap and when you picked it up it creaked like nothing else, mine was a rare white version, looked nice but i disliked the sound so much i gave it away.

ned.209 - 2008-04-30 18:03

no Tim, it was very similar to the one in the photo, but it had sloping speakers

- 2008-04-30 18:16

Ahh ok cool.

redbenjoe - 2008-05-01 12:46

Here.....

erniejade - 2008-05-03 00:28

redbenjoe - 2008-05-05 21:31

I bought this Magnavox decline era special for the min opening price of $89.95. While it may be in the decline of the BB era, it is still a CD BB that does not look like it was assimilated by the Borg so it has that going for it....

THIS is what all the kids are buying these days... Roll Eyes

We will see how it sounds. If it is good it will get added to the collection.... if it is just OK it will get used in the workshop. If it sucks.... it will go back on the 'bay....
