RX 6400 -- revised

redbenjoe - 2008-03-07 20:31

finally - here are my own pictures :

the outer case has some wear - but no dents, do cracks and nothing bad, at all

the open view is not mint -- but it looks great--

kid.sensation - 2008-03-08 01:46

not mint?Well it looks like!

nice unit..
Poeple GO AND BUY THIS.

I just built up mine to test it again and it blew off my socks..
I had it at "2 out of 10" at the volume and it cranked like no other of my boxes..And it does not even distort if you raise up..Your ears will be deaf before you actually can hear any distortion Big Grin

A real looker and sounder!

Wow That 6400 looks killer!!! I think you'd definitely be getting BIG BASS out of that for sure!!! However, I see that the speakers don't attach quite like most boxes and it seems as if it's not usable while being transported or carried. Therefore, it's not your average shoulder-holder block rocker (or "ghettoblaster") based on my observation of the photos. Wait a minute....actually the more I look at it, the more it appears as if the speakers don't attach to the main unit at all. Do they? It also looks as though it's too powerful to run on batteries but maybe I could be wrong. Does it run on batteries?

None the less, this is a really nice looking stereo. That's true solid in-your-face build quality there with the look of professional studio or PA equipment as opposed to a standard home stereo or boombox ("Ghettoblaster").

redbenjoe - 2008-03-17 18:29

it does take D cell batteries - so it is a portable --
but you are so correct about the 'not easy to carry' part --and the speakers do not OEM attach
(one member added retro-hinges)

so its far from light and convenient --
and one semi-distinguished member ( Smile )here , even excludes it from the boombox category !

but to some -- the sound quality is worth it all

- 2008-03-17 19:51

How many ( D ) batteries does it take?

james - i can check tomorrow - but i think 10 -

if you add the extra weight of the batteries - this thing will give your bus ---

4 flats Smile

kid.sensation - 2008-03-18 13:45

yep 10 D's.

And guys i tell you this is high quality.

I opened up the main-unit of my scrapper and oh well.

I suggest go for redbens if you want one..Do never try to get a non working unit and try to fix it.hopeless case.

Before you reach the deck you will have hundred screws, hundred cables and other things that you can not really put together again.
It's build to be never taken apart again.

I went through this mess of high quality packed on small space.

so..take iras wonderful example!

Portable implies the ability to use the device as you carry it around- which you clearly cannot do- reason #368 why this is not a boombox.

It's a "luggable" Karaoke/PA system, nothing more.

redbenjoe - 2008-03-18 14:34

I'm not trying to hinder it by any means. Did I ever say that it doesn't kick complete a$$?

No.

I have never said a single derogatory thing about this item. I know how great it is, as I have owned one myself. It's a great system.

redbenjoe - 2008-03-18 16:46
