Tradera
Hi,
I were looking on the net and saw this boomblaster. The bidding is up in 760 Swedish crowns (approx 74 Euro) 1 Euro=9.3 swedish crowns.
The seller says the belt i in two parts broken and the radio selection is not working for the moment. The radio itself is working but not possible to change frequense. One of the two antenas is broken.
Maybe something for anyone wanting a GF777 in europe.
Cheers,
Jonas

Yup, currently the high bidder. I could probably pick it up locally too. Smile

And, hi everyone (as I've just lurked around these forums previously).

Ended up costing about twice that but money well spent (and still cheap compared to many on ebay). Picked it up in person yesterday. Tried it out and found that sound only came out the leftside speakers. Lots of dust all over it. A quick cleaning of the exterior and all switches fixed it. Still some static from the volume knob but a more thourough cleaning should take care of it. There was a small crack at the bottom of it that the seller failed to mention, completely isolated to one of the feet at the back panel, no biggie. Battery compartment is unused.

The thing has spent most of its life sitting on a shelf, dubbing tapes every now and then. Seller was an older man who must have bought it back in the day. Opened it up, and apart from some dust, its spotless inside.

Really feels like money well spent. I'll try to get some photos, but I need a better camera than my cellphone has to offer before doing that.

Welcome Pipsqueak, congratulations on your 777! Pics would be great see when you get the camera. It sounds like you got a good deal on it and that you know what you are doing in bringing back to life. How nice does it sound to you?

a 777 for less than 120 quid?
...good deal!

I'll try to get a hold of camera. If for no other reason than for my insurance company - "you have what at home and they cost you how much!?" Big Grin I'm post my collection in the approiate forum once I get a chance.

Only having listened to it for an hour or so to try it out I've got a couple of observations about it soundwise;
1. loud - undoubtedly much more power than anything else I've got (Vela Discolite, JVC 550). Actually to the point that it's over powered - seem the box can't quite take the beating it's capable of producing.
2. A bit on the cold side soundwise, I'm missing some warmth but that could be a matter of tweaking the knobs to perfection. Or replacing/restoring the stock speakers.
