sinister - 2009-01-19 12:24

THANX ISO. I HOPE I WONT BE TO HARD TO FIND A NEW JOB

71spud - 2009-01-19 12:46

Just a couple words of advice (and encouragement) here Sin....

Take a close look at what you did for a job before and see if you might be able to do the same thing in your own business. As a subcontractor or consultant you could spread your job "risk" over multiple companies instead of just relying on one "job". Don't wait until all your other options are exhausted and your unemployment is done. Desperation is never a good place to be when you make a move.

The other thing is you should take a look at what you really like to do or have talent in and see if you can take things in a totally different direction (either as a job or self-employed). Also consider re-location to reduce expenses. After all it is about lifestyle, not how much money you make. There are people I know that have incredible lifestyle... and it has little to do with their income.

And keep your chin up... I have had major career changes (forced and not forced) and each time I took careful stock of my situation and how I could improve it. And each time it worked out very well for me... I would be miserable had I never had to make any changes even though at the time it seemed like the world was coming to an end.
