jvc.floyd - 2009-01-06 17:00

thats the largest production one piece box made ,followed by the sharp vz 2000 then the j1 comes in third place.

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 18:32

gordie --i know you are not very 'handy' to maryland Smile

jlf - 2009-01-06 19:14

I believe Fuzz is the resident Wheely 5000 expert!

jvc.floyd - 2009-01-06 19:25

i owned a wheelie 5000 i bought it from a tv commercial ad where actually sold on tv when i bought mine ,i remember when it came i just could not get over the size of it but at the time 1990 or so they were almost out of style by then so i think i traded it for some car stereo equipment then i just got hooked on car stereos lol.

- 2009-01-06 19:31

The Wheelie is one of the only boxes left that i want for my collection...never seen or heard one and never found one within driving distance (i'm willing to drive up to 10 hours 1 way!) Frown

-gsbadbmr

jvc.floyd - 2009-01-06 19:41

its a big box carrying i mean you'll get noticed no doubt.

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 19:45

floyd --if the wheelie is bigger than gordie --
then he WONT get noticed Smile

- 2009-01-06 19:50

Than i'll have to do a wall of 18 Wheelie's so that i CAN be seen Laugh Out Loud

I think the Wheelie is probably one of the WORST boxes to have shipped...especially in the brittle cold Frown

-gsbadbmr

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 19:54

this one for sale is in indiana --
how many hundreds of miles is that away from the gordie castle ??

- 2009-01-06 19:56

14 hours...28 return Frown

-gsbadbmr

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 20:01

well -- that $1000 is an enormous price --
and for all the time, effort, expense, insurance and HIGH RISK -
involved in packing/shipping this motha -
tell him to meet you 1/2 way.

jvc.floyd - 2009-01-06 20:02

yeah i feel sorry for the guy trying to find a box or boxes to ship it in lol. i think it would make the trip cos that package would be too big to throw .

- 2009-01-06 20:06

I wouldn't be able to live with myself buying it...having it shipped then receiving it damaged...it's not right...it's called "boombox abuse" and should be illegal Big Grin.

-gsbadbmr

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 20:06

"oops upside ya head" Big Grin

johnnygto - 2009-01-06 20:13

2 Conions and I'll ship to you for free Gordie. Big Grin

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 20:24

hey -- seriously -
hope one of you guys ends up with this thing -

jvc.floyd - 2009-01-06 20:24

baddboybill - 2009-01-06 20:36

Hey its only about 3.5 from me 7hrs round trip. But its a death trip Laugh Out Loud

71spud - 2009-01-06 20:36

The seller is a nice guy.... I drove almost 800 miles (16 hours) round trip to pick up a box from him this summer....

OK, well it was 37 boxes I got from him.... plus I bought a fully functional and nice looking 777 while I was there... so I guess that would be 38 boxes. Only I never bothered to count how many there actually were. Laugh Out Loud Leaving

They guy used to have a thrift type store, with vintage stuff in it. He bought alot of boxes and other things, but it never brought in what it would take to keep the store running. Turns out he has 3 storage units full of boxes and things... in the hundreds of boxes I was told... I cleared out everything he had at his house that was not already sold...

It was an interesting trip....

redbenjoe - 2009-01-06 20:40

very cool story, spud --

SO,
if an energetic member REALLY wants it........ Smile

thafuzz - 2009-01-06 21:04

Hi guys! Just popped in from patrolling the streets. My wife just happens to be in Indiana as we speak. I sent her back there for a week and she's on the lookout for boxes for me as we speak! Lemme chk this ebay site out.......

thafuzz - 2009-01-06 21:26

Okay, my wife is visiting her family in New Albany,Indiana (near Louisville,KY) 3 hrs,21mins South of this seller. $1000 for the this Wheely is a big stretch for anyone. It looks nice. I wish pics were better. I DO like the manual and matching mic. I paid $375 plus shipping for mine from an S2G member (very nice guy) who I wish would post more often. Rambo helped me replace the Batt. cover, 1 knob and 2 cassette keys to complete it for around $420. In great shape too!

thafuzz - 2009-01-06 21:42

This seller is expensive! He's selling a Vela Disco BBX for crazy money. Sinister has one I checked out when I met him and Masterblaster. It's a sweet and mezmerizing box- but, for that much? missing knob, broken cassette door too? Puh-leeze Roll Eyes Item number: 170289144501

jlf - 2009-01-06 21:53

Looks like your Wheely just went up in value my friend! Laugh Out Loud

monolithic - 2009-01-06 22:34

If I remember correctly, the dude who's selling the box bought it for a $1500 BIN about 4 or 5 (?) months ago.

He must've fell outta love with it.

Ira... you are our resident enabler... Laugh Out Loud

redbenjoe - 2009-01-07 07:39

well Smile

1. you are saying the seller is fine --
2. the seller is saying he has a 9.8 --
3. we all doubt if it will go for $999

==
one of you local members may be in for a
rare grail score --hopefully
Big Grin

71spud - 2009-01-07 07:47

The seller does "deal".... so I would not let the $999 price tag scare you too much. But be willing to pay 60-80% of that or don't bother IMHO...

redbenjoe - 2009-01-07 07:48

YES !!!!

71spud - 2009-01-07 07:52

Don't get too excited Ira.... I am not getting it... Wink

redbenjoe - 2009-01-07 08:00

didnt think so --
whatever the opposite of a JVC is.......

this thing is THAT Laugh Out Loud

71spud - 2009-01-07 08:44

I see it was available in different colors...

71spud - 2009-01-07 16:28

I find this interesting.... did you see this in the description? Not that it applies for this auction, but it does for others that he ships...

redbenjoe - 2009-01-07 17:39

even with all that --
the seller is playing it very safe -with the pick up only for the wheeley --

no matter how well packed - these biggies are subject to momentum shock .
