Especially - when compared with Sanyo 920?
how well does the RX-5350 sound in relation to what?
What would be the best " Sameness " to the 5350 ?
None of my boxes sound like 5350 - I don't really know what to compare it with.

I'm placing M90, 5350 and 999/1000 in one line of sounding. I think they are in one top group of sounding quality, but they have different sounding color
I don't have 999/1000, but I think BigBen belongs to this group as well. Mine is not a japanese version - I wonder if japanese and american boxes sound different. But my BigBen sounds better than any other boxes I have - except for M90 and 5350.

Do You have a M70 or a Fisher ph-492 or a Conion C-100F to Compare with?
because I just cant hear all that bass that is supposed

Ya, I have M70. In my opinion, BigBen sounds better
The green lights for the 5350, can you leave them on? And are they LED or a traditional bulb that burns out all the time?

That Sanyo came from Reading, UK. A couple of years ago s2g member pacwestuk got it from a car boot sale (original owners an old couple who'd had it from new & no longer needed it). He sold it to me so I could ship it onto Potrokh - mics manual & all. It was in lovely condition, just needed some deck work, which I believe it got from s2g wizard FYJ2972. I don't think it really matters at this point. There was equal access to the entire lot, for months, and nobody stepped up. If he wanted to change his mind in the end to get some of it sold, that was his decision.
There are still several good boomboxes to be had, in fact, most of the ones that I was interested in are still available. Hmmm.....

I had my M90 to compare it to. The sound was close to being as good as the M90 - clear & nice rich bass, but not quite as good. I only had FM radio to compare, as the deck didn't work when I had it.
Don't know enough about the mics to comment, but they didn't feel cheap...

Well, it was never really mine. I bought it from pacwestuk for Potrokh. I 'm near enough to pacwestuk to collect in person & he didn't want the hassle of international shipping. Potrokh had not long shipped me my M90, so I had appropriate packing for the 920 & I also have use of a cheap international courier through my work.

You started a fun and adventerous thread, it didn't go the way some had hoped but that's the nature of things like this. I enjoyed the possibilites while they were still just that. Now we move on to the next box or boxes for sale although if one of us was the slayer of these boxes I hope they share it.
