Alwa 955 for sale

vladi123456 - 2008-10-27 06:26

Known issues - tape deck doesn't sound as good as my other boxes, it plays at normal speed, but FF/Rewind are very slow. Tape counter doesn't work. I'm asking $130

Will add more pics tonight

What's the digital display, for the track number currently playing?

jt - 2008-10-27 10:18

Nice box!!!!

You should have no problem getting the $130. I'd buy it if I hadn't just scored that Panny 5150.

Maybe DM4U will buy it.

Reli, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I've owned this Aiwa for almost a year, and it never got any attention from me - I'm possessed with a rare form of a *JVC madness* - I use almost exclusively either M90 or M70 - and sometimes National 5350. So I don't really know much about Aiwa's functions. I think this digital display is for some memory settings, but I might be wrong. I was pushing all the buttons when taking pictures, and right now I can't remember what I did to get the 3 to show up Big Grin

JT, thanks! Big Grin

It must be a great-sounding box, because the 950 I own is awesome. It's not a big boomer by any means, but it has extreme "clarity" and "tightness" compared to most other boxes. Really lets you hear the details.

As far as I underdtand - 955 has more bells and whistles than 950, but the sound is pretty identical!

Reli, the digital number display is for the music seach function. You chose how many tracks you want to search either forwards or backwards and it will stop and play the track you select. Nod Yes Big Grin

Ira, the Sanyo 920 is still up for grabs, and I still secretly hope nobody would want it. As a matter of fact - I've already almost talked me into keeping it - just wait another hour or two - and I'll oficially anounce that Laugh Out Loud

And it takes you that long because you only sell *novelties* Wink

redbenjoe - 2008-10-27 19:35

well - try that 'jump start' on the deck --
and then you might not want to sell it Smile
