Vela Disco Lite For Sale

bchumblers - 2011-05-09 10:19

I was given this Vela Disco Lite boombox by a retired electronics teacher at the local high school. His wife suggested that I might like it, I tried hard not to nod furiously. For that past year I've bee playing my ipod through it at parties(the disco lite feature looks sweet in a dark room). I'm selling it (a bit reluctantly)now that I've become aware of it's value. I never guessed it's age since it all works and looks fairly new, the guy even gave me the original owner's manual. I had no idea they were serious when they call it a "Personal Disco Component". I want it to go to a good home where someone will love it and I figured this would be the place to find that someone. You can check it out on ebay.

Gee thanks for offering this up to members and not using it to promote your sale... Not!

No need to be a negative nancy. This is the only place I have posted this ad besides ebay itself. I want real enthusiasts for this kind of thing bidding, not someone who will let it fall to pieces in their garage. I just thought this would be the place for that. Good luck to any interested parties!

No negativity given and it is truly a nice box, its just a shame that non entities post to eBay to get maximum price as possible, plug it here and as you say ironically, don't really mind who wins it since if you did you would have offered it up here first

Good luck with the sale, I'm sure you have done the auction no harm by posting here afterwards.

I have tried for the past 3 disco's on ebay with no win, and only found this one when browsing eBay. That said, bidding is fierce for it already due to the condition and paperwork, so I expect a price around $1200-$1500 for this radio. Spend it wisely! I know I'd only sell one if I really had to.

to someone, that is going to be the most expensive bunch of flashing led's they'r ever going to purchase,if the discolite never had the flashing lights,it would be just an $100 Box,i used to have one,it did look good but it sounded awfull, and once the fun of the lights wore off,i got rid of it,and for a fraction of what that sold for, because i sold it private.looking back now,i should have ebayed it i would have got 10 times the money i got,so i dont blame the guy for going straight to ebay,no member of s2go in the right mind would have give him that sort of money for it.

Well, that's why we have eBay; for when you have a grail and want the market value and not the member price .

To be fair though, I bid just under $900 on that Australian disco, and so around $1000 is not out of the question. Above that, personally, I'd rather buy a car.

Thats the only thing i left out of my post,i ment to mention that, yes the price people are willing to pay for boxes these days, you could actually buy a decent car for that,i would ever pay those prices for a box,and if i did pay alot i would'nt dare tell family or friends what i paid, they would think i'm insane..i try to steer well clear of bid battles and high price boxes, leave it for people with lots of cash.

Im just glad I have been around the block a few times and know wich boxes to avoid....this being one of them.....

yes its very sad seeing this because this radio is the cheapest ever made, but the light show that it puts out is amazing,  i got mine for 28 dollars at a yard sale.
