SHARP VZ-2000 FOR SALE (UK)

nik.gnashers - 2011-06-03 11:54

I have recently aquired a very good condition sharp vz-2000, it was donated to a local charity and I bought it from them.

I got it for what I think was a very reasonable price, and I would like to offer it to this forum to see if anybody is interested in buying this from me.

Everything works as it should, the tape, record player (both sides play great), and all the switches, sliders, and knobs. There is one very small fault, the plastic slider knob that controls the treble control, has a small peice broken off the back, which means it only slides the actual resister/part one way but wont grip it to slide it back the other way. I must stress, the knob sits on the panel of the ghettoblaster fine, and the actual treble control also works 100% fine, its merely the back of the actual plastic knob that has a slight break.

I have been 100% honest, and have had a good 'play' to make sure everything else is 100% which it is. It also comes with the original owners manual, and even an extended warranty card with date of sale (nov 1982).

The item is in the UK, and I could deliver within 30 miles radius of Lincoln for the cost of my petrol.

I have no idea what these are worth, I only know what it cost me, so anyone interested please make me an offer, and we can take things from there (I can take pictures and post them up to show you the item and anything you need to see).

Nik

PS - This is not on any auction sites, only here for the moment.

EDIT - Pic here

Wow thats a nice box that mate, looks really nice..i've had a few of the Vz2000 over the years,i did still have one,had it about 7 years,it had all the sliders and a new turntable belt..had it until about 9 months ago when my brother borrowed it (on a perminant basis) every time i asked for it back he would make excuses to keep it longer,so on his birthday last october i told him he could have it for a birthday gift,he loves it,he uses it all the time.least its getting used, coz when i had it,it got switched on about once a year,it got left in my spare room unseen,unused..its in pride of place in his house in his living room

Bison - I have no idea on the postage, I can say it is quite a heavy beast though !

I also have no idea really on the current market value, so if you would like to make me an offer in PM I will definately consider it

Rather extreme costs for those boxes in the US and waaaaaaay overpriced imho.

nik.gnashers - 2011-06-04 08:16

Yes, $998 canadian dollars, equates to £620 UK pounds, which is way more than I think the item is worth.

But, although I am not expecting anything like that to be offered, I do think it is worth a lot more than £50 for example (thankyou for the offer bison) ..

If I had a spare 'lads' room, I would definately keep it, but its such a massive ghettoblaster/boombox, I really do not have anywhere the mrs would be happy for it to live in the house, and as such I am forced to sell it.

I will not be putting it on ebay until I am sure nobody on this forum is interested, as I think this is where true collecters and lovers of these amazing items share their passion.

At last sombody who dosen't want top $$$ for something just because they can get it....good on you nick hope your sale goes well...

nik.gnashers - 2011-06-06 09:20

Just thought I would put a price up, that I would be happy with for my vz-2000.

If I do not get an offer for this price, I will most definately keep her, errr I mean it lol !

Its an awesome beast, maybe not the greatest sounding but one of the most amazing looking in my opinion, so she, errr I mean it, will sit in a room somewhere forever.

If you would like this, I would part with it for £150, any postage costs to be payed by the buyer, although I would deliver it free in the UK if it was within 50 miles or meet up somewhere if you are farther away.

prices have hiked wildly on VZ's in the last 12 months

and the VZ2500 normally gets more cash than the 2000

Good luck with sale!

nik.gnashers - 2011-06-23 12:14

Just to update, I have had a couple of offers but only around the £50 mark, and I feel it is worth a lot more, so as yet this is still for sale.

I will leave it on here for a couple more weeks, then put it on ebay

nik.gnashers - 2011-07-09 13:27

I had an offer of £150 for this, but have been let down, so the item is now on ebay with a low reserve
