Sharp VZ-2000 - Parting out

friendy - 2011-07-18 19:14

G'day folks,

Unfortunately, I've got a VZ-2000X that I am parting out.

It's the one with black speakers and trims with RCA in/out, not the red speakers with blue trim.

It arrived smashed to bits by TNT couriers....thanks for that.

I've listed the power switch and battery cover on eBay.

I have no sliders.

Most of the outer case is broken, particularly at the base.

One of the player circuit boards is broken (the smaller one near the solenoids)

If you need any particular spare, let me know and I'll see if I've got it. I'll post any part  for cost.

Thanks

i had 2 vz2000,one my brother borrowed from me and got rather attatched to it,so i ended up letting him keep it,the other one had a few issues so i scrapped it,i still have the whole record deck section,if i would have still had the whole casing,i would have sent it to you,,

Good onya Beanie Man !

Thanks.

This VZ-2000 died a horrible death in a well packed box from Adelaide to Melbourne in Australia. I don't know how the sender could have packed it better and got a worse result.

Couriers have the amazing talent to destroy everything and still deliver a week late at full cost with no recourse to compensation - They're like Bart Simpson - "Wasn't me, can't prove a thing". TNT is the courier for anyone reading.

Even a new case wouldn't have saved this one...and it was surprisingly quite OK on the outside before 'the drop', but there were other problems.

Inside there were other boombox atrocities that some guy with 10 thumbs had inflicted. One board in the player had been broken in half and an attempt to solder it back together had occurred unsuccessfully...probably why it was on eBay. The power and other buttons and important screws were missing or broken, the cassette base was broken off and there were no large sliders - only a couple of small ones.

An expensive purchase, for no use at all to me, but like an organ donor, this old girl may be able to make other VZ-2000's live to rock again.

p.s. Your brother is lucky...these are the best Boombox...plays both sides of the record loud ! I love it !

What a shame

yes thats a shame that..the shipping companies dont care about the goods they'r shipping,i think once they've seen one parcel, they've seen them all, because they are constantly dealing with parcels day in day out,the amount of care they take just gets less and less, and i think they get so bored, they just throw things about just so they can get home on time..

Yes the Vz i gave my brother,it was in new condition,it had no missing sliders which is rare from what i have seen,i see alot on ebay and usually alot of the sliders are missing, mine still had them all on,and it had a new turntable platter belt and linear arm loading belt fitted, she was a real nice example,i loved it,but my brother had problems, his wife left him after 25 years,so i just wanted to cheer him up..but since then he's had a breakdown and he's been took away,he is in a mental hospital, but he's getting better all the time,he should be back home by christmas..
