there a pants box though,i bet none of them are fully working they never do!

iv got two i want to shift

ghettoman - 2012-01-22 07:19

i agree mate, the vz2000 and 2500 are ok but they sound pretty crap and they are simply too heavy as a box,on the 2500 have you noticed when you take the volume above half, the sound changes and goes really flat ? i like the look of it though, i had a 2500 years ago,and while i owned that i saw another on a car boot for £15 but i passed because i did'nt want 2 coz of the size..as for the 2000 i've had umpteen of those over the years,i never keep them because of the poor sound

claret.badger - 2012-01-22 07:24

i'd  pay no more that 75 pound for the lot of em

...sounds like an automatic loudness control. I've seen it on plenty of Sharps; usually later models though.

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 14:17

lee - twas a joke

I'm game actually - i'll have a punt

who want's to split em?

I'll drive

mitchelljames - 2012-01-23 14:31

Interesting idea,  an ebay consortium.

ghettoman - 2012-01-23 15:45

Iso yes i get what you mean, some that have loudness built in to the volume is normally the ones that only have tone control instead of bass, but on the vz2500 its not actually loudness, the volume goes flat to avoid feedback from the turntable..

Hey that could be a good idea if you guys buy them between you..but one of you would have to go and collect them ? any of you near devon ? they have to be worth £50 each has they are..you could fix them and re sell them or keep them..

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 15:49

when was this Beanie Man? i dont remember that.  and who had the 400 boxes is he a member?

ghettoman - 2012-01-23 16:34

i think he was called johnny boombox,it was a few years ago,he came on and offered his full collection up,but he said he had them all in a barn on palletts wrapped up in cling film,Member Royal went and bought some off him, think he bought a GF9000,Aiwa 990,Aiwa Ca70,a Ca100,He bought loads off him, well as many as his car could carry..i bought an amstrad 8090 off him for £25 including shipping..Royal said he walked into the barn and there was boxes stacked up way up high,he said there was VZ boxes Galore,he said they were everywhere..me and litfan was going to go with a van and buy aload off him,but it never happened..this was a sample pic he put up,just ones he dragged out to take the pic, this was nothing,it was a fraction to what he had..

ghettoman - 2012-01-23 17:06

not sure badger,he just said he was from essex, well he said they were stored in a barn in essex, royal was the only guy who went there, and i was the only other that actually managed to buy a box off him..i tried to do a search on here for his username but he's gone,i think alot of old members with not alot of posts got cleared off when the site was updated..

Hugo, did you remember the guy ? i think you was definately here at that time..
