Correct me if i'm wrong but this is actually a CP7 i believe. Like many component types it has seperate model numbers for the speakers ect but the real model number is on the main unit which is CP7

The Cp-7 has a digital tuner and round tweeters.

Sansui Cp-7

Sansui CP-5

Thanks retro! Both versions are really nice. So the one on ebay is a CP5 then?

I'm not sure if it's legible, but they share similar components.

Love it! I noticed the difference in price above in Asian currancy CP5 Y 88 800 and CP7 Y 108 000

I remember watching the mint-in-box black CP7 on ebay a few years ago and it was a steal at i believe $400.00 if i member right.

the cp7 is loud not loads of bass....gave one away a few months ago...but unfortunate for the recipiant the postman struck

and yup that is a cp5...had both

It's funny that some boombox's seem alot more common in the USA and others more common in the UK or Canada.

I don't think i've ever seen a Sansui around here at all yet Hitachi's,Candles and Sanyo's ect are quite common. I guess it depends on how close the nearest distributer is.

Hi, radio raheem! I know that this post of yours is kind of from back in the day -- three and a half years ago today, methinks  -- but, uh ... what did you mean by "the postman struck"? Did you mean that the postman lost the Sansui CP-7 that you sold to someone? (How careless of him!) Did you mean that the postman (accidentally) wrecked the Sansui headed for the buyer? (Butterfingers! Pay up!) Or did you mean that the postman swiped ...

Just out of curiosity, how can you be sure it was the postman and not just down to poor packaging?  I mean did it have post office issue foot prints on it or something?
