Eighties,
Good luck with the trade lee

deliverance - 2012-11-06 14:13

grim to be sure mate ,  bringing nothing but shame and disgrace to the site

bison - 2012-11-06 14:22

Be interesting to know how much hitachi asked for one of these,
Compare that to a sharp qt twin deck box around the same time

deliverance - 2012-11-06 14:26

not much surely andy they are poor it would be interesting to know .

them qt's are great little boxes Andy, weighty, sound good and look ok too.

way better than the hitachi's of the same era

lav.loo - 2012-11-06 14:30

just looked on recall sharp site, the closest model i could find was a w55h which looks exactly the same as the one you posted Chris, the year of manufacture was 84 and the price was $145, about $100 overpriced lol

bison - 2012-11-06 14:36

az, sharp didn't fire the quality control staff till much later,
Hitachi made up for these poor boxes with the 3d series

lav.loo - 2012-11-06 14:42

yeah i agree Andy, some of them 3d's are sweet, love the 3d88, sounds great

Have you looked at the bottom or Underside of this unit - that is where there batteries go.  Here have a look and these pictures of a Telefunken HiFi Studio 1M battery compartment  Location

nickfish - 2012-11-07 14:54

So very sad.

Have nothing worthy of trade.

How will I ever achieve greatness without this?

Magic beans?

I would offer to buy but don't want to cause offense because of my clueless status. If this is an option please tell me discreetly.

Nick

Or are you simply embarrassed for Not ever looking beneath your's?

It's ok as I learned from Mr. Vu on here on Stereo2go about a particular Sony Boombox & I have never told him thanks either.

cant find that thread of Mr. Vu's anymore or I would

davebush - 2012-12-06 10:26

Well ill be damned......iv just looked under mine and low and behold....a battry compartment..........

That`ll save me lugging it round with my 2000 metre extension lead

baddboybill - 2012-12-08 00:18

The Telefunken Studio sounds excellent on AC power but there is a separate smaller amp when powered with batteries and sound not as good...

Hey CB,

If Lee had yours then it's the one I have now. It's in good order but was a bugger for Deliverance to get the tape deck working properly!

hardmen - 2015-02-11 18:20
