andyboombox - 2013-02-23 02:52

ok,so now i have my sharp cd x12 going i feel i have no need anymore for my gf9090,rt s782 and aiwa cs200 mini as the sharp cd outweighs them all in sound quality and looks....but,there are one or two boxes i still wouldnt mind owning.....

hitachi 8200

hitachi 8600

sharp gf9595

hitachi 9100

hitachi 9140

sanyo m9990

sanyo m9998

sanyo m9996

any cheapo disolite (not the velar type)

sharp gf8585

sharp gf8686

and more.....too many to list!

so heres the thing....i live in west yorkshire, and would ask for collection only....

the sharp 9090 needs a new tape head but is in great nick and works great on radio

the toshiba rts 782 fully works and sounds incredible

the little aiwa fully works and is a great little mini

give me a call on 07984 562173....mods please leave my number up as i want a fast trade and dont want this lingering on!

if you have one of the above boxes available and can get to me then give me a bell....and lets see what we can do

for the "lesser boxes " up there such as the hitachi 9100 et al i would ask that it be fully working if possible, the others not so fussed if they are or not!

grab a good deal!!!!get in touch!!!!

lav.loo - 2013-02-25 02:52

i know mate i'm feeling it too tbh, not sure why i ever got into this game, i reckon it's a mid life crisis lol oh well gotta keep pushing on eh, listen mate not sure i'm gonna be around much longer here myself? well not on a regular basis anyway.

you've always been a good mate and il,e always keep intouch via phone regardless.

don't give up Andy you could just find that one box that brings back the magic for ya

andyboombox - 2013-02-25 03:04

no bro to be fair i think the end is nigh for me too....i mean, its not like i was offering out an m70 or nothing i know that, but a while ago peeps would have loved to get a gf9090,toshiba rt s782 (which in itself is really nice and high spec)ans an aiwa mini.....i was only asking for the minimum of a cheapo hitachi 9100e!!!!del gave one away at the meet!!!!but if someone would have had one they could have had all 3but they are off the menu now bro,ive given up with this sadly.....take care my good pal and ill keep in touch

lav.loo - 2013-02-25 03:10

andyboombox - 2013-02-25 03:40

yep....given the thing away in favour to some one should something i might want on ebay in the future crop up....but at those prices....i guess ill be waiting forever

mitchelljames - 2013-02-25 04:45

Hey Andy, it might be that your boxes are collection only mate.
Don't blame you for not wNting to post but alot of folks won't travel a 100 miles or more for a 30 or 40 or 50 quid box.
Good luck anyhow bro.

northerner - 2013-02-25 04:55

Collection only makes a big difference...petrol is sooo damned expensive that I don't tend to travel far. Furthest I've gone is like 30 miles! And that was for my fab vz2000 for £30. If he'd offered to ship it he would've got plenty more for it than a measly £30. Obviously the better the box the further I'd go tho

You just gotta roll with the ups and downs of collecting...sometimes it's crap and sometimes it's awesome Same as most things in life really LOL

stereo.mad - 2013-02-25 05:02

well iv done a round trip of nearly 600miles before for boxes.....no pain no gain

I'm just too lazy to be honest   You're talking to someone who has no working handbrake on his car for 2 months...I can afford to get it fixed, the garage I use is less than a mile away, I just can't be bothered and quite like the challenge of living in a hilly area with no handbrake...certainly builds up you're hill start skills

ok ... that`s my pov :

1. i`m a beginner, searching for a box ...
2. when i look into this buy and sell forum, i see 3 things, that makes it annoying to buy something :

- mostly no pictures and datas. there are ppl out there, who still don`t know every or just one box by only thinking of the model number...

- no fixed or negotiable prices. that`s REALLY annoying....

- pick up only... (wtf ???) ..

so, if i want to buy a box here, first i have to google some pictures and data. in this thread, i`d had to google a lot...

after that, i`ve have to write a pn about my interesting and the price... that`s even more time for me, because, there is no community, which comments about silly prices or a visible price in the offer, which forces the seller to avoid them...

and then i`ve have to convince someone to pack a parcel and walk to the post office ...

well, it`s already hard for me to find a box anyway due to the mad prices everywhere. but these points makes it often a dealbreaker.. -.- ..

but there are places, which do better in the net :

like i wrote in another thread, i am also collectiong watches. i am in a german forum, and this also has a buy/sell corner ...

the rules there :

every selling offer has to come with pictures and a price (negotiable or fixed, € or swap), some datas about the model are welcome, and pushing offers is only allowed with changing price after 2 weeks. comments are disabled.

there is also a feedback thread.

it works perfect ... i bought 4 or 5 watches there and i`m pleased...

for example, look at this beautiful selling ad ...

YES, it takes more time to write a nice advert. but it takes more time to wait a long time for final selling, when buying is harder as it needs to be for the buyer...

i`m a little bit confused : ppl take so much time to search and GET the boxes, cleaning and restoring... but they don`t take really much care about their selling adverts.. ...

so, for me.. it`s the bay ... again -.- ...
