Sharp VZ-2500, JVC M70 & TEC 879 for sale in Europe (UK)

spacelobster - 2013-12-01 10:51

TEC

Visually 8/10, no major scratches or dents, but the chrome is a bit foggy. Complete with no replaced parts AND fully working both decks and radio. No line-in of any kind though. Sound is decent with some volume and thump.

Looking for £ 50+

JVC

Visually 7.5/10, one major issue, a 2x2 cm hole around the left mic grill, which was busted into the unit. Found the pieces inside and glued back in place. Otherwise some marks below the cassette deck, some light “fogging” of the tuner window and minor glue residue/scratches on the metal below the tuner window. One broken off antenna holder. Complete but with one replaced antenna. 1 broken strapholder. Took this around in Sweden this summer and it really blasts  !

Fully functioning, all functions on cassette, radio & RCA-phono. Only thing is only right speaker works in stereo, but both work in mono.

Looking for £ 250 +

Sharp

Just like the JVC this one has a minor 2 cm hole above the tuning wheel. All sliders replaced except 3. Antenna replaced with one 2cm longer than original. Original reproduction sticker added by me. Minor scratching on front panel glass. Some minor discolouring of speakers.

Fully working  ! Records play beautifully and cassette as well ! Radio + inputs works fine, though I only tested RCA plugs.

Some work has been done inside, changing belts and adjusting motor speeds etc, please ask if you want further info, this is NOT a perfect 100 % VZ-2500, it’s one that I got working for a few years maybe, I couldn’t tell you.

I also want to trade ! After collecting for a while now I realize it’s not about having loads of money when the right box comes up on ebay, that’s how you get scammed. It’s about trading desirable boxes with members who are sitting on all the goodies and keep them in A+ condition  .

So I am interested in the following boxes. Some are obviously worth only the M70, some the Sharp and some all three. Cash in between is also an option.

Sharp GF-1000

Discolite

Sanyo MX-920

Sharp GF-9696 (black or silver)

Lasonic 920 (black or silver)

Toshiba Bombeat 16

Sony CFS-99

Aiwa 770A (blue)

Sanyo MX-650

Or if you have anything else, try me !

Peace

Declaration:

I do not take responsibility for the radios I sell after they enter the shipping process, I pack them to the best of my ability (after Boomboxery guidelines ofc and previous experience) and take pictures before I ship. Upon request and an extra fee I can remove sensitive parts such as transformers etc. Therefore I will not be held accounted for any damage upon arrival. The radios are sold exactly as seen in the pictures and described, upon 1cm-fine inspection further flaws might become available, but all noticeable marks are listed. Functionality may falter tomorrow, because I cannot not tell you the condition of the inner electronics. They were working fine when in my custody and as seen in the videos. Any work done inside has been done to restore functionality and all vital parts have been put back/repaired. I explain as much as possible in the description, ask for more info!

Hi there, i'm interested in the TEC whats the model name? Also, what country are you in as I'm in the UK, just asking as need to factor in shipping

tster - 2013-12-01 13:51

Doh just read the "Europe (UK)" part in the title, what a dumbass

So er, just model name then...

spacelobster - 2013-12-01 14:03

Hello, the model name is TEC 879 RR. Pretty rare, so I doubt you're going to find much nfo on it. It has a few A.K.As like Helix without X's on the speaker grillz. Yeah I'm in Canterbury . I tried to describe it as good as I could, I mean it's not rare because it's sought after, it's rare because it's just a crappy black box. It does have the looks but not the sound to match. That said, I thought it sounded decent, but after upgrading my collection with M70 this one doesn't measure up anymore.. Make me an offer if you're interested.

spacelobster - 2013-12-08 06:00

radio.raheem - 2013-12-08 06:04

i would be surprised if you sold them at that prices. especially because 2/3 of your units have serious cosmetic issues

spacelobster - 2013-12-08 06:18

Listings must have a price, so I set some, better high than low, if you set really low prices it's hard to argue for more money with any potential sellers. Yes the JVC is probably not worth £250, but how often do you see an all fully working VZ-2500 for sale in the UK ? I don't see them often and not everybody wants minty boxes only. Maybe I'm very wrong, Ebay will have the final word in this in a few days.

radio.raheem - 2013-12-08 06:22

I don't wish to say any more good luck

ao - 2013-12-08 06:51

Whatever someone is willing to advertise their stuff for is very much their business, as is the price someone else is willing to pay.  Credit to Spacelobster for having the insight to include prices, in my view this is much better than 'what will you pay?' posts.

As a buyer, if the prices are not to your liking then move on, these obviously aren't for you.  It's not considered good etiquette to comment on prices.  If Spacelobster has asked for advice on pricing then please give it, otherwise can I urge you to keep negative comments to yourself.  If they don't sell then they don't sell, if they do then they do, nobody is hurt.

The fact is most likely that Sal is trying to assist with the sales and I don't see any issue with someone giving advice about their prices if it means there is a better chance to sell? So not sure that he was breaking any etiquette per se.

The 2500 is available regularly on ebay UK over the past few months and range from less than 100 quid for not working or damaged to 200 quid for fully working one. Sorry, I'm sure you already know this.

Good luck with your sales Spacelobster.

Docs, my comment was not really aimed at Sal, I was really referring to the class clown
