More Tapes

I just can't walk away from them - I find myself buying just about any cassette(s) I come across at thrift stores that are type II or better. Especially if its NOS like those TDK SA90's! Don't know which one it is - am I lucky or just a sucker? Don't matter, they're very affordable nowadays.

Awesome! I love to see this. You guys should check out www.tapeheads.net too.

There are some really good tapes in those stashes. I'd love to get my hands on some of those. Keep buyin' them, cuz they sure aren't being made anymore and prices on ebay reflect that.

Below is an older pic of some of my stash, pulled from another thread. Since then, I've added a few boxes of JVC AFII's, TDK SA-X, TDK MA and Blackwatch 4040 metals. I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 or so sealed blanks, and another 100 or so gently used older premium tapes (incl Maxell XLII, XLII-S, Denon HD-8 & HD-M, and even 5 sony metal masters). I have a bad case of CTAS (Chronic Tape Acquisition Syndrome) that I'm trying to overcome. Laugh Out Loud

I’m the same for buying tapes. I only buy TDK MA-XG’s, sadly I’m down to my last 48 unopened pieces.

I have tried many other tapes but I find the TDK MA-XG give me the best sound. I did try the Maxell Vertex but find it to throw music at me rather then present it to me like the TDK does.

I have been hearing good things about the Sony Super Metal Master, but have not been able to get hold of any yet.

Anyone know if they are any good?

Thanks

Chris
