Hi,
I thought I would briefly introduce myself, but firstly say that it seems you have a wonderful community here on the forum.
My internet name is NuWave but fortunately for me my mother named me Chris at birth!
I live in Western Australia and stumbled across your forum whilst searching for a long lost walkman I once owned during the 80's (Sanyo M-G10). I've yet to find one, and hence have put a request in on the wanted page - not sure what one of these would cost in good working condition??
I have a passion for all 80s music and have around 10,000 songs mainly in original extended versions which I have been collecting over the years, including painstakingly copying my vinyl to mp3's. I have also been an avid collector of Smash Hits Magazines (the music mag which hailed from the UK around 1978). I have about 200 of these with about 5 full years during the early mid eighties, and now just trying to fill gaps in my collection. What I find interesting with reading these mags, are some of the ads back then for the ghettoblasters and walkmans - the colours and the fun through the marketing is just so Retro - its fantastic!
So as a new member here, I can see that so many of you have a passion for walkmans, ghettoblasters etc and I understand how one can be so passionate about collecting such items.
I hope to be around here in a small part, to learn a bit more and who knows may become hooked - I'm sure it will just be a matter of how much the budget/wife will allow $$$.

Thanks for having me here - Chris (aka NuWave) Smile

P.S I am quite involved in this music forum, if you are interested, please visit:

Welcome!
Any chance you could scan and post an advert once in awhile?? Just for fun. Those years are the same time I grew up with music, it was quite diverse and interesting. New things, sounds, style, music and electronics.

I love how the "Voiceover" unit has a pseudo-spectrum analyzer graphic on the front.
