If the little metal flap falls off - is it still safe to use the disc?

Just a dust cover to protect the inner disc should play fine or replace off blank disc..

I agree with TheRealSmith. It should be fine. If anything it'll be a bit more reliable with no shutter to break. I'd be tempted to copy the disc ASAP if it's anything special. Claret, is this the eBay special (Sony)?

no this is another disc - i found the metal flap in my "disc box"

There appears to be a white nylon style retention clip...just press in to release...

And open sesame!

i don't want to bin the disc as it's a nice SONY premium number

I have put the flap back on - but it seems loose now
