Hitachi TRK8190-8290-8800 Slider Cap

masterblaster84 - 2009-01-09 19:14

Here is my smallest quest yet!

I'm looking for one slider cap from the TRK-8190, I believe the TRK-8290 and TRK-8800 are the same. Smile

don --we dont want to use the "W" word here on s2g Smile

but -- on the small chance you cant find one -
its just a rectangle with one simple angle cut--

Hey maybe you could make me one out of wood, your pretty handy with the knife from what I've seen.

as your very desperate last resort Smile

Ira, no kidding but if I can't get a bottom drawer for my Conion. I am making a piece out of aluminum or balsa (priming it with auto primer and painting it silver) and double side sticky taping it!!!

It'll look the part!

johnny -- if you can -- use aluminum instead of wood -- b/c, even with primer --the wood will eventually show the grain

johnnygto - 2009-01-11 18:05

Yeah, aluminum stock from my local hobby shop is my first try, my father in law has his own welding shop so he may be able to come up with something...

Honestly, if I can just make it look clean and complete I'll be happy. I'm not trying to win bbx of the year award, my pockets aren't that deep Smile

sinister - 2009-03-04 16:58

yeah different set up

sinister - 2009-03-04 17:03

the 8800 also has what you need as well

masterblaster84 - 2009-03-04 19:17

Your right, I'll add that one to my list.
Seems to be a tough part to get but I'll keep the feeler out there, some day one might show up. As you know it's the only part I need on that nice 8190. This is one of the few boxes I drooled over at Best Products in the early 80's so It would be sweet to have this one complete.
