Scott, how do you think the sound of Sanyo 650 compares to Sharp 9696 or JVC M70??

I would say it sounds just as good as either the GF9696 and the M70. It is quite loud and has great bass and really good highs. (IMHO) I had the MX-650 totally apart today for a really good cleaning. The woofers are really quality with a foam type surround, they can really move some air.
Cool, thanks!

Also, as far as I understand, this Sanyo 650 is a clone of Aiwa 770 - do they sound alike?

I thought they were a clone too Vladi, but they have totally different electronics onside and a different cassette drive. They sound totally different (IMHO) I think the Sanyo sounds "crisper" than the Aiwa. The Aiwa has more of a "warm" sound. The Sanyo seems louder too.
