hey, really after my first box since my dad's old red qt-77

got my eye on a crown 5100, despite people telling me no line in, shitty sound and poor build I still want one, at least until a 1st gen 931 or an m70 comes along

happy to pick up in not too far away (I live in scotland but go down to birmingham a bit, so could meet at a train station along the way if you don't want to post), payment by paypal/cash

I don't really know how much a crown is worth, from what i've read on the forum it's not that much, like under £120 and certainly not the £200 this box will probably sell for, especially as m70's go for under £200 still

but I will wait with interest

as it happens that particular box is a members from here, and your right i would'nt pay more than £100 for one personally, hope you score one mate

if I don't get this one I might have to spring for a TDK 3 speaker boomer as i'm DJing some outdoors parties in a couple weeks and some sort of boombox would be perfect, but I don't want to just buy any old thing in haste and regret it, so I figure the TDK won't be a bad idea at all

it's just our opinion Claret, if you go on quality and performance then yeah their pretty s**t, but they gotta be worth a ton just for the cool looks' the 5100 is a very desirable box probably due to the looks

got to be worth more than those crappy Dre Beats monster boxes that sell for £400

not to worry though, as i've just found a friend with a TDK (actually he has 2 of em), so i've got that to play with for the party, but it's not stopping me wanting a vintage boomer still

all of a sudden i've got boomboxes coming out from all over the place, I'll have to convince this guy with the TDK's to come around with us and bring his box along too, he got the one ex demo so it's a bit scratched up so he shouldn't mind bringing it, although it is so heavy

he's thinking of selling the spare unit he has and getting a smaller box instead, in a small room it's just so massive looking, which concerns me about getting a crown as it's probably as big if not bigger

The 5100 look good , and they have been used in a couple of adverts , i have one boxed , the sound is quite good not as bad as some may say
