Calling all UK shed boxes!

northerner - 2012-10-16 11:06

So I'm kinda getting in to this repairing smashed boxes and wondered if anyone had any decent boxes that were sitting in a shed because the casings were shot...too good to split for parts but too knackered for show? It costs to fix them both in time and money (but especially time!!) so I'd be looking for cheap deals!   I missed an £11 smashed Sharp VZ2500 because eBay freaked on me so don't have a big project lined up now I'm pretty much done on the Sharp GF9000 and need one to keep me amused!!! Anything decent but cheap considered! Cheers guys

stereo.mad - 2012-10-16 11:41

ha ha i missed out on that vz2500 as well si,i was planing on doing the same as you on that one as well and it was local to me! just forgot about it

northerner - 2012-10-16 12:31

I was gutted! Did my usual last second snype which has never given me a problem before I'd messaged the seller and he said he's package if I arranged the courier and I really wanted this box!! It was the right model and the right price...not happy!

Now if I wanted a divorce I'd get a van and make that journey!  If I returned home with a van-full I'd be shot on sight...I've got a Renault Scenic and with the back seats out I could fit loads in but I'd not be able to sneak that many in without the Mrs noticing! Plus I've just checked Googlemaps and it'd be a 10 hour round trip   My folks have actually got a caravan in Porthmadog which is nearer but its still a 2 hour drive from there plus I'm not likely to go there until next summer...why does no one live near me!!

Not sure I'd cope with a van load anyway, if there were a couple of good ones worth saving then I'd happily sort a courier to collect but appreciate you probably don't want to faff around digging through a big pile of them.  If you would do this then pm me what you've got and what you'd want for them and we'd see if we could do a deal, but no hard feelings if you don't want to.  Cheers

lav.loo - 2012-10-18 03:18

northerner - 2012-10-18 12:25

Too late mate...the reason he can't find his key is because I hid it after I emptied his shed in the middle of the night

I have to really, its only fair to warn people of their imminent death should they step on to his territory

he's a lovely looking dog Si, here's one of mine...well he was mine sadly he's gone now

my lot 108

northerner - 2012-10-19 03:51

omg what an awesome dog ...a 'proper' dog unlike my hairy freak (tho I do love my hairy freak!)

'gone' as in to the kennel in the sky or 'gone' as in the ex got custody?

lav.loo - 2012-10-19 03:58

thanks Si, yeah he was the best dog i ever had, absolutely loved the kids and was a a great all round dog, he was a cross german shep rottweiler, strong as an ox lol

it's a long story but i had to get rid of him as i moved from manchester to mablethorpe to be near my kids, as the ex left me and decided to drag my 3 babies 140 mile across the country.

i'm renting a 1 bed flat down here and no dogs allowed, it broke my heart to get rid as id'e had him ten years from a pup.

i made sure he went to a great home though, a nice lady who owns a car sales lot bought him from me, we keep in contact so atleast i know he's doing well

lav.loo - 2012-10-19 04:23

here's a shot with zeuse and 2 of my kids, love this pic

northerner - 2012-10-19 04:37

german shepherd and rottweiler is a really good mix, both can be fantastic dogs...some people mistakenly think rottweilers can be nasty dogs but I'm related to several vets and they all have nothing but good things to say about them

clearly this one loves kids!  a good dog is like having another kid so it can be just as painful parting with them, especially one as handsome as this one!...cute kids too

lav.loo - 2012-10-19 05:08

cheers Si, did'nt want to try and squeeze my other girl on his back lol, although he could of managed it.

yes your right, they become part of the family, zeuse was around on all the kids births hence he would'nt leave their sides

northerner - 2012-10-19 05:52

Couldn't do it with my kids...my dog's about the size of a border collie, my daughter is 14 but skinny as a rake so she'd be ok but my son is 17, approaching 6 foot 2 and 15 stone...he'd kill the dog outright!

northerner - 2012-10-19 05:58

HIJACKED THREAD ALERT!!...oh, it was me, I hijacked my own thread

No one was coming up with any bust boxes anyway so I'd much rather talk about me dog

lav.loo - 2012-10-19 06:21

ha ha yeah where's Reno, he must of found his shed key lol

mitchelljames - 2012-11-11 03:36

Hey Northerner, I've got an Hitachi 8300 you may like.
It does have a couple of issues but is a nice size and weight and when working right has a good sound for a box of this price.
Btw it's been painted. I'll see if I can find a pic.
It will be tenner or 20 quid posted.

Thanks for the offer MJ! I'm not a huge fan of the hitachis I'm afraid unless it was maybe an 8600. I've got an 8190 already which I don't want I was naively hoping for some top boxes with case damage like my 9000 but so far zilch! Cheers

mitchelljames - 2012-11-11 05:27

No worrys bro, all the best

litfan - 2012-11-11 08:30

This is my shed, before radiohier raided it. It was a treasure trove.

retrolad - 2012-11-11 09:07

Seems a fair price

litfan - 2012-11-11 15:20

Has anybody here, got one of them crown`s. What do they sound like? I remember, it weighed a ton.

bison - 2012-11-11 15:24

northerner - 2012-11-11 22:16
