thanks and no i do not have one as yet the one i have to do is a members .

radio.raheem - 2013-02-25 02:45

chris the best way to get one lad is...if you see one on ebay...make an offer....most sellers know what there going for unfortunately but some don't...and you may get a good deal.....all my m90's i have made offers on  apart from 2....this one cost me 350 all in....yes a bit high but that was down to me just wanting one....kabooms are better yes...but im struggling to lift mine so im hoping an m90 is lighter....this one is staying original.....as the one i sold stereomad.....although a beauty it was just to bloody heavy...because of it's marantz speakers

deliverance - 2013-02-25 02:51

there was one on ebay the other covered in stickers i was told about it then looked for it , it was no longer available in hampshire i think .

radio.raheem - 2013-02-25 02:56

that's the one i bought...im sorry lad.....i havn't looked for boomboxes in months as i have just lost interest....but the other night i had a dream i was changing belts on an m90 of all things......i woke up thought id have a look at what was on the bay....low and behold there she was....she is in a state but i have paint trims etc....so i can sort her out.....when i can find the stuff that is

nickfish - 2013-02-25 03:22

I think they must have been huge sellers when they were new... there are so many around at the moment! Just about any Aiwa is more 'rare' than an M90!

radio.raheem - 2013-02-25 03:46

It took me 5 years from first joining here Nick to get my first 880.....that is partly down to me though as i thought they were so flipping ugly lol...but it's a cracking box mate.....the one you have from stereomad was mine mate

stereo.mad - 2013-02-25 04:15

indeed it was reno.....sometimes wish i never sold it as it would make a strong contender in the boombox trade world at the mo! no offence intended there nick

nickfish - 2013-02-25 05:27

None taken Lee, Regret is a bugger tho....

isolator42 - 2013-02-25 06:19

Reno, you have another M90 on the way?

How many have you been though now?

docp - 2013-02-25 08:26

From the manuals :

VKB3001-012 Capstan Belt SCX7.0 (square cut, .040-.049 inch/1mm thick, inner circumference 7inches)

VKB3000-017H Take up belt SCX4.6 (square cut 1mm thick, inner circumference 4.6 inches)

VKB3000-031H Counter belt SCY5.2 (square cut .035-.039 inch thick or 0.8mm inner circumference 5.2inches)

Hope this info helps...

Medium flat belt, approx 9.3"
Orbicular Belt Square approx 9.0"
Small Belt Square 4.6"

Down at the bottom is the 0.35 x 0.35 (1mm square cut) belt with 4.5 inches doubled making a total 'inner circumference' of 9 inches

Just above is the 'medium' (I only have 3mm wide belts)FLAT belt at 4.65 doubled or 9.3'

From what I've calculated in mm for visual accuracy

118.11mm = 9.3/2 converted
114.3 = 9/2 converted
58.42 = 4.6/2 converted
88.9 = 7/2 converted
66.04 = 5.2/converted

Hope this info helps... Brutus442 has successfully used a set

I'll vouch for DocP

He sorted me out perfectly Reno. My M90's never sounded better.
