This is nice! Ebay Item 160345558787 Near mint only $360 US or in Downunder money only $452.60 plus shipping! Economic downturn? Your've gotta be joking!

milosancho - 2009-07-06 21:42

This is crazy.
One born every minute.

skippy1969 - 2009-07-06 22:40

My Gawd, that is just stupid....... The stupidness.

mrp32dave - 2009-07-07 11:12

This one's not far behind still 1 day to go!

More stupidness

elite1502323 - 2009-07-08 10:13

Maybe these are currently going for high prices because people need them for news articles or videos celebrating the 30th birthday.

aa.fussy - 2009-07-08 14:09

Very surprising to see those high prices.

I wouldn't pay that much for a cassette player.

wombat - 2009-07-11 11:09

I wouldn't buy one for that either!! But I just may sell one--like my WM-1. I don't have a real emotional attachement to it so if someone wants it way more than me I will list it on epay. I'll let you all know.
One one hand it's great that our investments/hobby is in demand. On the other, I never collected to make money, I just like em. Now we have to contend with prices being bid up. I got to the party a couple years too late.

The thing that amazes me is that there are so many TPS-L2's on the various ebays at the moment...and they're still going for crazy money
TPS-L2 has to be the most common type of Walkman on ebay over the last few weeks

nga - 2009-07-23 04:04

183 euro!

TPS-L2 on ebay

zx280 - 2009-07-24 01:01

Here's another to give one a fit of the vapours! Item 250470584736. A boxed EX1HG for only 250 good old English pounds plus 25 postage. Super old chap!

transwave5000 - 2009-07-26 20:49

Im waiting for my local
thrift stores to cough one up.
I found a F1 there a few weeks ago.

ao - 2009-07-27 00:19

Far be it from me to turn my nose up at a good opportunity. Thought I'd get my nose in the trough - TPS-L2.

isolator42 - 2009-07-27 08:49

that's the attitude Cris Smile good luck with the sale - I'm watching...

elite1502323 - 2009-07-27 12:15

Oink! Agent old chap Oink!

zx280 - 2009-07-28 23:57

Some times it goes the other way. I just picked up a pristine mint boxed WA-55 here in Aus for 48 Australian dollars

isolator42 - 2009-08-04 06:28

looks like Cris' auction is doing pretty well.
That'll pay for a good couple of trollies full of beer from your local Carrefour... Smile

Kerching... Smile

ao - 2009-08-07 04:56

Yeah, yeah, I know, sold out etc. had to do it, got too many of these lying around. Delivered the walkman by hand today, nice guy too. He loves it.

Time to list another one me thinks.

rolyateel - 2009-08-13 03:00

Well, amongst all the buying frenzy of TPS-L2's I bought two.
One is branded Walkman, and needs a new belt and cost me €20.51+postage, the other is unbranded, works well, and was €75.
Neither came with earphones, just the blue "leather" case.
Smile

zx280 - 2009-08-30 22:27

And here's another one! Item 220471953207. Considering one side as vendor says `needs a little tune up'!!! Some of us are sitting on a fortune!

19lexicon78 - 2009-09-05 03:52

wow, if i had those. i would sell them now. never seen these prices.

manimal347 - 2009-09-09 06:31

These high prices are why I'm going to dip my toes in with equipment like the WM-1 and WM-22. They at least still look cool - as cool as the first-gen brick, anyway...

zx280 - 2009-09-11 16:52

More of the same. Item 200380017029. With a loose lid. $620 us. Only $721 Aussie!!!!!
Who IS buying these?

rerooted - 2009-09-11 19:01

jameswp67 - 2009-09-16 00:21

Wow! # boxed Boodo's! Among many more! I hope you use them as well! Wink

ao - 2009-09-16 09:13

That's a nice pile of boxed units. I have a few but not as many as I'd like. The F2 being my prized catch.

johnedward - 2009-09-17 15:15

Ditto on the boxed retirement fund ! Mine >>>

zx280 - 2009-10-16 17:51

That one mine fault, told him he probably could get around $400 if he listed it on eBay.
