Looking for one of these, must be in full working condition with no faults in feather touch controls) and preferably cosmetically nice.

Willing to pay REASONABLE price....

Thanks

Er, ok, welcome.

The BM-600 is indeed a very interesting unit & sadly very rare indeed. I'm going to have a sniff round for you.

Cool

I do think a member here does have one! Cool
but I am sure he will not part with it Smile

Yes, that is the one -- I was given one many years ago by a family member who had unfortunately ventured into grey market stuff and got a ton of BM-600's, all of which apparently were defective.

The feather touch mechanism, while
wonderful when it worked, often broke
down.

I have a BM-600 now, but only functions
in FF and RR, no PLAY or RECORD. It
came in a special SONY box complete with
the portable microphone/controller that
they sold for it.

Unfortunately, SONY refuses repair
requests on these -- I sent mine to
Laredo, TX after being told by someone
on the phone that they could repair it
only to have it returned several days
later with nothing done and a "parts
not available" notation.

If anyone here by chance does know
of someone who works on these and
could tackle one for repair please
do let me know.

Otherwise, my search continues for
a good condition and working model.

Sony doesn't even make a official PDF version of the BM-600 service manual available to its authorized servicers through its password protected "reference library" site it seems.
