Dolby C versus Dolby S-XBS?

hi,

so im still looking for my first proper walkman. and ive got a couple metal cased ones im looking at (dd9/dc2/f701c/ex808hg/rq-s44) but im just wondering what the difference in sound quality is between well dolby b/dolby c/dolby s-xbs? (couldn't find any info on s-xbs)

if you have good quality tapes (type II) then is there a huge amount of difference between these 3 noise filters? the one serious problem i have with my current boots walkman (£1 from cash converters) is that ive got a load of ****ty type i tapes recorded and they have a really loud annoying hiss. but when i play them on my tape deck with dolby c, theres no hiss.

thanks guys.

S-XBS is found on Panasonic models and is usually a bass boost feature and not noise reduction.

It's just Dolby S.
