does anyone have any info on this walky Cool

Sure thing have the owners manual with few pics showing it here. From my research the KT-AS1 was released 83-84 at a price of $95 and the KT-AS2 released in 85 for $80 probably same as KT-AS1 but with lower price point due to the intense price war competition back in those heady days.
A word of CAUTION from collector with first hand experience of Toshiba's disasterous hub system that has FF and Rewind buttons on face pushing down on pinned mechanism to engage these functions. DO NOT EVER use the FF or Rewind function as they are very prone to when you open lid springs and parts reach escape velocity never to be found again for repair. There is a very tight fitting plastic cap on end that usually ends up split lengthwise and is too small to glue with and luck of holding.
Just a heads up.
I also have the RP-AF2 Tuner module for the KT-AS1 but do not have the walkman. You should check out Wombats recent post of his boxed KT-AS2 which is nearly identical to KT-AS1 just came out year or so later at a better price point. Here is link KT-AS2

Also I have an extensive topic on my Toshiba's including list of models made and dates with some descriptions and many pictures of the 18 models I do have. I do have all but 1 of the many tuner modules also pictured.

I have one of these; found at sal-army w/box. The manual seems to suggest mine's a later US-specific version. Instead of "Walky" on the front there's "auto reverse".

Accessories: carry strap; battery pack that takes two D cells and goes to the DC-in jack (3VDC, center pin negative); headphones (the pads had rotted into powder); holder; RP-AF2 tuner pack (my avatar is the guts of this; there are three surface-mount ICs on the other side). I have the manual too.

You can see some of the price: 1??.94

The missing spindle because of the cracked cap, that I mentioned in that other thread. I have the spindle, but the cap is in a strange dimension by now

This was laying out and collected dust. I photographed it while disassembling, so I have a reference

I have the parts that's missing; it's just buried somewhere

I'll eventually put this back together, at least to use it for the tuner, which sounds really nice.

Hey ya Sinister we all would LOVE to see some pictures especially that it is a mustard color. Include the back to in good clear shots. Appears you have a unusual color. Also how well is it working and what do you think of sound quality?
