Using Tape Personals on a daily basis?

toocool4 - 2011-07-02 12:43

How many of you guys still use your Tape Personals on a daily basis? And if you do, do you get funny looks from people around you?

I get funny looks every day on the train, not that I care.

But now, using the DD9 you no longer need the tape to run from A to B or vice versa.
So, other people, will not notice. Even if it's funny, their wonder with their MP3 into the ears.

Yes dottor walkman, people will notice less since I will be turning the tape over less.

I will still get looks on days I use the D6C.

i use a walkman daily. a dd30 or a dd33 usually. but for a while i was using a d3 which i found to sound better than anything else i had. it's such a beat up little d3 too. i did my best to make things right but it's lead a loved life. and still sounds better than anything else i have. it's a pain to carry around though, a bit.

i haven't really noticed if people notice my walkman. i have a friend who was quite amazed when i showed him my wm-501. most people around here had the bigger plastic walkman. they sounded pretty good, but the tiny metal ones are just amazing to see in real life. and to hold.

i imagine though it would be funny for someone too see my walkman next to my unused but still carried ipod touch.

I use to alternate my Walkman every week. I alternated between DD33, DD9, DC2 and D6C. After I got my DC2’s working correctly I never used the DD33 again. I still have 2 fully working DD33’s and now they will just be used for parts if the main gear is to break in the DC2.

mark what is the DD30 like? I have never heard one, how far behind the D3 is it?

I have an iPod nano but it only has audio books on it.

the dd30 is very like the dd33 in sound. i think the only differences are in styling. i prefer the look of the dd30 to the dd33.

compared to the d3 the sound is pretty close. but i just find the d3 has the real ability to dissapear. the sound is more open and returning to the dd30 or dd33 the sound is almost a bit masked sounding in comparison. is this all due to the amorphous head of the d3? cus the rest seems so the same.

the dd30 looks to be a stripped down dc2. very similar styling with a lack of dolby c and an amorphous head. plus the line out of the dc2 is replaced with a second headphone jack.

my ipod is now used for email checking and ebaying. or if my walkman batteries die. so i don't let my batteries die too often.
