Sony CD Walkman D-250

Hey, newbie in 'has question shocker'!

I've been a longtime reader here, but wanted to wait til I do something really, really cool with my collection first (this will happen by Christmas, I reckon).

But I had to join to ask about the Sony CD Walkman D-250 I picked up recently. I've seen them on eBay, it's obviously a well appreciated and desirable model, but google as I might I cannot seem to find out any more information about mine, which is metal bodied. Limited edition, or is it just chance that the ones that have turned up since the summer are plastic?

I'll add photos later, now i'm a member i'm well up for joining in

Don't forget the D-250 was also called the D-25, you might get better luck searching for that.

Nice unit though

Right, Pictures:

The son of the woman who sold me this really didn't want her to sell it. The tactile nature of this discman is pretty awesome, it's lovely to hold and I think that's why he didn't want to see it go. She said "It's mine, not yours" and sold it to me with some boxed Sony speakers for £5.

In my view the nicest Discman made.  The white version of this is a very special thing.

It's the nicest in my collection, along with my Sony DVD Discman PBD-V30, nice to know that even in my small town there are decent vintage electronics to be found. Still only the smallest amount of info on the web though, is the Discman a relatively undocumented item?

That's really nice looking unit, Sony made some of the electronics in the world, thats why we love them so much, the walkmans i mean. They always look and feel special and if looked after give years of faithful service.

it's a nice one, real 80's looking and the silver version is more rare.

you've got also the d150, think it was a tiny bit better.

but there is only one king of the sony's, the legendary d-(z)555.

love this one, got all the extra's. the sound is better than a d250 and d150, but is still mwa mwa.
