Dottor Walkman Aiwa EX50 Successful Repair

cooldude - 2012-11-19 14:33

I got this Aiwa EX50 10th Anniversary Gold unit as a part of a lot of about 50 Walkmans. A beautiful unit but it suffered from the common Aiwa capacitor leakage. I wondered how amazing it would be like to have this unit fully functional. Having only a little more experience in repairing Walkmans than replacing belts, I was not comfortable with attempting this repair. Lucky for me I read some good reviews about Dottor Walkman's awesome repairs and decided to contact him. He agreed to repair it for me.

Fast forward to the present and I have in my hands a fully restored and functional Aiwa EX50. I was very impressed with his knowledge on the subject from the start. He provided me details on every step as he worked on the Walkman. He replaced the damaged caps with high quality caps and would not settle for anything less. He also repaired the logic control circuit that had rotten away from the capacitor leakage. He did a few other repairs on the Walkman that I can't recall now. The result is a beautiful sounding machine that I get a lot of joy in using and listening to my tapes in. It has become among my primary Walkmans since it sounds so great.

Thanks to the hard work and dedicated job Dottor Walkman did despite his busy schedule.

I would highly recommend Dottor Walkman for any of your Walkman repair needs. He knows his stuff.

I will try to post some pictures of the Walkman later this week.

I totally agree with you. Dr Walkman is a Walkman "guru" and one of the very few people in the world that truly knows the meaning of "excellence" in the whole meaning of the word.

I have an Aiwa that I would like to have repaired.  How do I get in touch with Dottor Walkman?

Hi Dmata10,

The best option would be to PM him directly, via the Dialog tab in the upper right of the screen. Good luck with the Aiwa!

I think Dottor Walkman is one of those few people that have real passion for what they are doing. Very talented and skilled of course, but I think it is his passion that makes him extraordinary and we should feel lucky that we have him
