CRIS AgentOrange My RESPECT and FRIENDSHIP

johnedward - 2013-04-15 19:36

Cris ..... I am disheartened by all that has come to pass in just last few days.  I am not on daily for some time now.  I for one being a old guard know of your truly tireless hours watching over this forum both Walkman and Boombox side.  Most here have no idea of the dedication and love for both areas I know you have and the expansive knowledge of history of and mechanics/repairs that you have dedicated the time to sharing with others around the world.  I would ask you to stay on as a moderator but understand after all this time and the countless times you have endured judgement when you were doing your job which is truly thankless to remove yourself.  I believe the fairest JUDGE or Leader is one who's decisions often upset BOTH parties as this indicates a best solution when most of time there is no yes or no decision.  You have too often in the background settled things in such a manner and others jump to judge you .   We have had our disagreements of long ago yet our respect of each other is steadfast and you Cris have never done anything to sway me from that respect of you.   I consider you a good friend and will continue to do so whatever your end choices may be.   At the very least stay active with us but I know of no one better to  be a moderator than you.

The community needs to know that a moderator is the LEADER of our community. THEY EACH OF THEM THE MODERATORS should and must have a code of honor, honesty and RESPECT for all here and THEMSELVES.  You are such a person for as long as I have known you.   I do not know the other moderators as I know you BUT I believe absolutely that no leader of any country or institution who behaved as another moderator has apparently done and MORE than once  should be given the continued trust of leadership. We all have tough times but a disregard for people you are suppose to be an example of truth and leadership and exhibit behavior and actual actions that are not becoming of the position you are entrusted with should consider his duty and decide accordingly what is best for all of us.  I wish all the members in this mess to stay with our forum and continue to add their great knowledge and words here.   Cris I thank you for your hard work.

JOHN LYDLE

PS  Yes some members had a right to voice what has happened and to do so publicly IMO.   It is sad that some members began attacking and taking sides like a dirty political race for office often becomes in our world of today.   We must consider what triggered this all to happen and do any of us want this to happen from one of our moderators in the future.   And yes some of this dialog should be between parties closest involved in PM's.

Excellent post, and most deserved praise to AO.

I hope you come back to mod, even if only on the Walkman side of the house. The site is much worse off without your contributions, but I understand if you don't wish to do it any longer. Thank you for all of the help given and patience shown to the membership of the site as a moderator. I hope to see you around here again soon.

Chris felt so strongly that Lav Loo had abused his position as Moderator that he offered to leave S2G for good if the membership voted for him to go, and if not him, then Lav should go.    This was said by another member.    i want to go on record that I believe Cris AO has done NOTHING wrong in this situation.  That I agree with his comment and position that he felt strongly Lav Loo had abused his position as Moderator.   I think the  offer to step down by AO if membership voted for such and the poor way this was handled/ MANY /most members do not read daily here and so many would have posted had they been aware of this as I have just become.  As my prior post indicated the honor , trust and respect we grant our moderators has been violated.  i understand the hard work Lav Loo has given this community both in his posts and I assume in past much of time as moderator.   The wrong man has stepped down and even left our forum.  i am in no position to judge the WHY of all of this and the occurences of past but as a member my voice has been given for others to understand of what I do understand.   The community as a whole has been hurt by the actions of one and the fallout of words spoken.   The hurt can not be taken back but forgiveness can be given.  WE all have our moments and regret words or actions but repeatedly do so and to more than one person should be addressed.

Since there are only 3 or 4 moderators situations like this can be difficult to settle when so many of the community are affected now and into our future.  I would suggest a committee be nominated by the moderators of 15 members inclusive automatically by any moderators of the time.   The moderators should with consult of a few members they choose come up with a list of 20 to 30 members in good standing and respect to be voted on by all members ( with dialog notification sent to each member requesting vote) over a 30 day period to narrow it down to the 11 or 12 members who are not moderators to serve.   Should a member of committee step down or be removed a new member is decided by the committee and requires 2/3 vote to be installed.  A perminant sticky should be posted so that all members can know who Moderators are currently and committee members.

This committee is only in force when such situation as one like this occurs where a moderator or member has done wrongful things that are serious enough to require a vote to dismiss from being moderator and / or removed from membership permanently from forum.    This way the burden of such serious decisions is not left up to just 3 or 4 moderators.  A vote within the committee should require a 2/3 majority.  And discussion among committee be only within PM's with all attending.

I do not believe one single member can honestly in good mind accuse Cris of misuse of his power as moderator.   We may have disagreement of his decisions or comments but I believe he has ALWAYS tried to extend every courtesy and fairness to any situation.  Yes Cris can be sharp of wit and words but in end this reduces misunderstandings.  No one does a perfect job but many men have done their best and honored their morals and beliefs to serve others even when always there will be some who disagree.  All leaders must at times make personal decisions based on their beliefs and these may run contrary to others.  This is human nature.   But democracy over ages I believe is still the best governance notwithstanding its failures as no perfect system has been found.  Let tolerance and understanding rule us yet there are actions that are not allowed by leaders which no longer entitle them to leadership/moderatorship that we the members grant such and the founding fathers of this forum.  Forgiveness heals the wounds and is honorable to practice but we do not need to forget or ignore unbecoming behavior or hurtful actions.
