gold star walkman AHA-M83

pawel - 2013-05-13 17:15

got it for 3$ as a curiosity rather then a real piece for a collection,
but I was really impressed by the sound and built quality.
What's most interesting, goldstar made an effort to make its very own mechanism, which is by far the smallest walkman mechanism I've seen. It's even more compact than mechanism used in WM701 series. Short belt with brass flywheels makes low distortions.
The engine is quite noisy, but its shielded with additional metal cover.
The lcd remote is quite usefull, and the earphones are very good.

So - It turned out to be a quite nice acquisition.
