That's a nice classic, AK! Cool

baby.boomer - 2008-05-28 11:18

There aren't many cars to choose from in the USA, if you want a small gas-saver. One of them is the Daewoo-built (in Korea) Chevrolet Aveo (which used to be known as the Kalos around the world). I bought this one (in '05) for the color... a "secret color" that was never publicized, even on the Chevy website. GM calls it "key lime."

And lookie at what I bought today. On clearance sale at Meijer for $149.00. Not super-cheap, but, for NIB, not bad!

(Pay no attention to the Teletubby between the front seats.)

I was worried at first with the "secret color" and the fact it was "key lime". Then you brought me back with the new Kaboom. (Great price too! Congrats!) Then you lost me again and I'm worried even more that your riding with one of Tinky Winky's B***ches! Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

First Hello Kitty...Now this. Did you go to "Houston" with vladi? Laugh Out Loud

(See this thread if you're wondering why it's a "Houston" Texas thing. Laugh Out Loud Houston...Special Indeed!))

Please don't confuse Key Lime with Key West.

Then you brought me back with the new Kaboom. (Great price too! Congrats!)
Thanks! Last one in the store.

It's Laa-Laa. Hey, every car needs a mascot, right? Be glad it isn't Elmo.

First Hello Kitty...Now this.
What can I say? It was a slow day at the Salvation Army store. I couldn't bear the thought of coming away with nothing. The Hello Kitty radio/CD was the best I could do. I made sure the clerk double-bagged it, so I didn't get beat up on the way back to the car.

Did you go to "Houston" with vladi?
Nope. I'm waiting for a day when DM4U can get off... I mean, when DM4U can get off for a day... I mean, when DM4U can get the day off. Did that come out right?

1969 Lancia Fulvia 1,3 Rally (project)

1974 Zündapp R50 scooter
2001 Ducati 996s

baby.boomer - 2008-05-29 20:17

Lots of folks use pick-ups, but I do my hauling in a Sprinter. Big enclosed space (could've been even bigger if I'd gotten a longer version and/or an extra-tall roof) and good mileage with the Mercedes diesel. Practical, and very Euro, too.

(Yeah, the silver paint's coming off the wheels. Seems my power sprayer has a little too much power!)
