OH MAN!!!!! This is an awesome thread!!!! Bendy..... this is my 1st hobby. Boombox's are just a new thing. Got my Lasonic 975 so now I'm good. But back to the BMX's.

My 1st ride back in the day was a Ross Snapper. Then I moved on to a Redline PL-20. From there I got the Radberry Redline RL-20-II. After school I moved out west and got into a little Mt. biking. But my real love is BMX.

As we speak right now I'm builing a SE Floval Flyer piece by piece. Basically a big PK Ripper.... 24' cruiser.

My collection right now is awful. Lost a bunch of my personal stuff in a breakup. Mad
But i do have my Redline Team Cruiser. I'll post a pic in a min down below.

Your pics are absolutely INSANE!!!!! Just incredible. I love your daily ride. The GT with the bash ring. I ride street now. Trials riding and flatland. Looks like a great bike to beat. The one below is nice 2.

Would you part with any???? Just wondering..... Cheers, John

billy.the.binman - 2009-08-21 14:59

4k'in Ay! Me likey.

thats a hobby bordering on obsession. some sweet stuff there. i like the yellow mongoose frame with the trickstar stand and the any ruffell bernaaarrrr

totally digging that scooter as well! love that!

jd3 - 2009-08-21 16:03

Even the schwinn at the end is sweet. just took a re-look. Redline flight 401 cranks, looks like a DK or a tuf-neck stem. Lots of awesome old school parts. Great, great, great!!!!!!!!
Big Grin

ghetto.blaster - 2009-08-21 16:13

dammmmmmmm...

nice..... Smile

bendycat - 2009-08-21 17:08

can't ride em all Laugh Out Loud

80's bmx's are my thing, but as i ask for old bmxs peps bring me all sorts of bikes and so some i do up and sell to fund other bikes (and bills)

things like the kalkhoff is simply sweet with it's copper candy paint and chrome - along with the little cricket green bike which just needs some big old ape bars Nod Yes

love the GT tour for riding although i do want a new school 22-24lb bmx to ride (might trade stuff if the right one pops up) and the FIT is a nice ride

scwinn has twin pinch (wish it was 401's)

the goose is a strange one, as it seems to be a one off/proto type ? pro welded ! with top parts - will be reborn again Nod Yes

i have a couple of the red BSA shopper bikes which the collage kids in Brighton UK love

street jammer was cool and so mad 80's

there are about another twenty bikes that i got in just no time to picture them Roll Eyes Laugh Out Loud

here's my lastest one for cruzin

Custom GT

for any one want to see more sweet rides and meet some great guys go over to BMXADDICTION.COM and say Bendy sent yer Wink

jd3 - 2009-08-21 21:20

I'm drooling over the Skyway mags. With the metal hubs no less. Wow!!!! Sick!!! Big Grin

sinister - 2009-08-21 23:31

you've got some really kool bikes there bendy. ive got 2 24" cruisers myself. a 2000 dyno vfr an a 1986 elf race bike i built for the street. have you ever checked out bmxmuseum.com that place is pretty kool too. Cool

2steppa - 2009-08-21 23:47

Ahhh, some real memory lane stuff there Big Grin

Never had many bikes myself, only a Raleigh Commando, Kalkhoff Coupe Du Monde racer and some other Raleigh racer (10-82 sport?).

Always wanted a Chopper though, preferably in 'Hot Red' Cool

Awesome pictures, great work Cool

billy.the.binman - 2009-08-22 07:08

man that GT!!!!!!!!!

that is sickness in the highest form!

im trying toget a raleigh twenty to put some bmx parts on to but theyre double hard to find round here (brighton) as all the trendy plonkers buy them up for loads of coin. i saw one girl pay over £100 for a shoddy ducth type bike and it wasnt exactly a kwolity one either

petey.awol - 2009-08-22 09:27

I've got an 85' Mongoose Californian I restored. Plus my baby I haven't had time to rebuild yet. 1986 GT Pro Performer. Its in mad pieces waiting for me to get the rust off the frame and to repaint it. I got reproduction stickers for the frame too. It's gonna look badass when I get to putting her back together.

drmz - 2009-08-23 09:07

Wow. Lots of nice pictures! The Raleigh Chopper design so cool.

I started to ride flatland in Mid 90s so missed the oldschool times. In the GDR we had just one BMX in stores which was not really good. I remember the brakes were weak and it was hard to do an endo.
After the wall came down I had a Dragonfly Double Dynamite, a Morales and I still ride my GT Show in the park.

jd3 - 2009-08-24 10:18

Just looked at the bikes over again. SLOOOWWWLLLYYY. WOW!!! The parts, the frames. I'm in old school heaven. Big Grin

masterblaster - 2009-08-24 12:18

I love the bikes Bendy. I have a real soft spot for 80's BMX. My ride right now is a retro SE Om Flyer and I a have a Dyno Tour project bike waiting to be completed...

jd3 - 2009-08-24 13:03

Hey Masterblaster...... I'm building an SE Floval flyer as we speak. All black with retro Skyway 24's on it.

bendycat - 2009-08-24 16:40

Hi masterblaster mate Wink SE Om flyer sweet Nod Yes

got a couple of dynos - like most of my bikes they need sorting and finishing

but i have my big five to start first Roll Eyes Laugh Out Loud

seem quiet a few like there bmx's Wink

keep this thread going with more cool talk Nod Yes

cheers B Big Grin

masterblaster - 2009-08-27 10:11

JD3, I would love to see pictures of the floval flyer after you are done with it. Is it an OG one or a retro that you are building? I would love to build up one of those some day. I wish Skyway made some 26 inch mags for my OM Flyer

jd3 - 2009-08-27 10:51

I'm using the 2008 Black -n- white frame. Wish it was one of the original older ones but I couldn't pass up on the $139 frame. Thought I got a decent deal. I've always wanted a decked out black bike. Growing up in the 80's and 90's I always had the wild colors. Time for a TUFF lookin' beast!!! LOL

kballenger53 - 2009-08-30 13:42

LOOK AT THAT CHOPPER!!! Bendy, you've got my mouth droolin' over here!!! I remember when I was a kid, my Pop gave me an Apollo 5-Speed Chopper for Christmas when I was in the 3rd Grade!!!

Boy did I Love That Bike To Death!!! There's nothing like having a stick shift built into the frame right in front of you, like a car with an auto-matic transmission!!!

And from the looks of this one, it could've been a 5-Speed!!! Let me know when you restore it Bendy, Good Luck!!!

'NUFF SAID

viennasound - 2009-10-17 11:31

Got today this old BMX for cheap.
I´m searching long for an "high riser".
But nearly impossible, they are all scrapped years ago.
So i will rebuilt my own out of this one: Smile

Any idea about the label, bendy?
There stands only "BMX turbo" on it... Roll Eyes

viennasound - 2009-10-17 11:47

Like that.... Razz

Sorry, bad pic

skippy1969 - 2009-10-17 16:55

WOW! nice fixeruppers Bendy! Big Grin Nod Yes

bendycat - 2009-10-17 17:25

think the bmx turbo is a slight cheaper one - like bought from a catologe - but it still can be done up to be sweet

the scwinn style bike looks cool - now just put a cage on the front and put a box on it and start cruzin Cool

another fixer up - but this will be worth around £350 - £450 when done Wink

this one's done and worth around £1000 - £1200

and these three are soon

viennasound - 2009-10-17 23:05

Wow, great work bendy! Cool

davebush - 2009-10-18 12:18

REAL NICE AS USUAL........ Smile

viennasound - 2009-10-22 08:07

Throwing in a pic of a BMX, seen today at the waste-flea:

bendycat - 2009-10-23 09:38

i just know your going to throw up a picture of a bmx that is going to brake my heart

look for : Skyway - Hutch - old 80's Haro, Curtis, old 80's Mongoose

find any of these and we miht have to do a deal for a roller, the cheeky phillips box or so

keep an eye out mate - cheers B Wink

viennasound - 2009-10-23 09:49

No Problem, i will keep both eyes for you.
Will notice those labels. Wink

But most BMX i´ve seen are "nonamed". Frown
Also this one, of the todays flea:

btw: got my "personal grail bike" Cool

viennasound - 2009-10-23 11:24

Just found this one offered!
Is this MONGOOSE interesting?

bendycat - 2009-10-24 06:00

cheers mate - that one is a bit too 90's for me

usaly a fatter tube on the bottom and thiner on top

it's more of the style of the first picture that i go for

so how many flea markets are there a week that you go to ?

and what sort of price's are these bikes ?

love your grail bike - so cool Cool

cheers B Wink

viennasound - 2009-10-24 10:21

Ok, no problem.
I have no knowledge in BMX.
Only so much: I was foolish to give away mine in the beginning 90s... Frown

Prices are very different.
The red one was offered for 10euros.
The MONGOOSE for 40.
Some others over 100.
Sometimes nearly free.
Confused

But on the most fleas bicycles getting rare.
Except standard cycle wrecks... Leaving

Did my first ride on the cruiser.
Love it... Cool

bendycat - 2009-10-24 11:13

love the chrome Cool you just need to put a box on the back now Nod Yes Big Grin

got this and think it needs some big old ape bars to look cool Cool

viennasound - 2009-10-24 11:31

Yeah, my parents owns 2 of such folding bikes.

I found 3 years ago this micro-folder at the DUMP!!!
Here on holidays after restauration: Cool

5 speed shift
Folded it fits into a suitcase!

drmz - 2009-11-01 09:21

Hey Bendycat,

I´m thinking about buying a vintage 24" BMX-Cruiser. Can you recommend one?
I just spent 2 hours on http://bmxmuseum.com/ .
Its awesome how many different bmx were produced over the years.

bendycat - 2009-11-01 10:30

you will have to look at what price you want to spend ? 24" are always sort after - i still would like a nice one myself

you can of corse but one of the new SE Quadangle one's (look great in black or white)

http://www.fatbmx.com/modules/...cle.php?storyid=5548

Have a look here for some new one's - FIT and Subrosa are well worth looking at

http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/...y/1159/Cruiser_Bikes

ebay old school 24" apollo looks nice but a bit pricey
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Old-Scho...?hash=item5631b9e480

this one's cheap Wink
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-...?hash=item3356bc74d3

In a way if you like the bike and colour choice, just go for it - there are not many companies out the that make bad bikes - just stick to the top know names and not cheap chiwanesse toy store one's

as you can see from ebay and museum that the old school one's are very sort after and command high prices - you could always make your own from bought bits to make one ?

or you could buy one of the new 09' range - SE haro FIT Subroser and others - look for good deals on 08' stock or people selling on ebay to make money after not much use

hope some of this helps - ask if youm need any more info mate

my choice would be a FIT or a black SE quadangle

drmz - 2009-11-01 12:00

Thank you for the links.
I had a new Felt BMX Cruiser in 2005 but I sold it a year later because I never liked the design that much and quality was just okay...
I just like the classic chrome/round tube frames more. I keep looking, maybe one will pop up...

billy.the.binman - 2009-11-01 14:51

keep forgetting to mention i ride a powerlite as a daily rider, is that up your street bendy?

bendycat - 2009-11-01 15:29

viennasound - 2009-11-09 05:15

The radiant is offered with 100 or 110 euro i remember.
But is it worth? Red Face
I have no idea about the bmx prices.... Confused

billy.the.binman - 2009-11-09 14:10

hmm, probably not, looks quite cheap - as tho its a cheap copy of a skyway.

theres only one man on here that can give the definative answer on this i think....

im.out.of.hear - 2009-11-13 05:01
