BUSTED !!!

redbenjoe - 2008-04-07 20:54

today i get the frequent re-call from my kids high school attendance office -- "MIA" !!

of course he knows better than to surf around home --but he didnt know that old wise dad did know --exactly where to nab him Smile

anyhow --lucky Rambo is away -- as he would not be much impressed with the size of the waves we get down here in florida --

but even for THIS --all the local kids get sudden 'surfing illness' and make the best of these puny waves::

Ira,
YOU - of all dads - should know better. Surfing is not cool - boomboxes are - what do they teach kids in school now days!! Wink

The window is not relevant - you're probably just jealous of my fake Confucius quote Wink But what's important in that picture is a beer on a nightstand that I was coming to get when the pic was taken! Big Grin
And as far as waves - metaphorically speaking - I'm a big fish, and I make pretty big waves myself Laugh Out Loud

Um...who took the picture Vladfucius? Big Grin AND...was wave making involved? Laugh Out Loud

OH AND TO STAY ON TOPIC(even in "off topic"Big Grin)...

Ira, how do the schools handle it there KNOWING that kids will bail given certain opportunities that arise as weather permits?Smile

Ha ha, sounds like me as a kid, the worst day surfing is better than the best day at school. Sure the wave doesn't look so great, but pretty impressive backside air.

Florida may not have the worlds best waves, but you can boast producing the greatest surfer of all time, Kelly Slater who looks like he may nab world title #9 this year?

I don't have many photos of me surfing, I'm usually on the other end of the camera, but here's on of me from a few months back.

oldskool - its a very young world in parts of florids -- his teachers and principles are mostly in their 20s/30s --
so there is some 'play in the system' Smile

Rambo -- YOU LANDED THAT ONE !!! thanks for the great shot --

agree about slater -- we think the reason that some of these 'chop surfer' florida kids do well in the big wave competitions in hawaii. etc
--is that they all have to acquire quick 'goalies reactions' just to catch any wave down here
---i will send you some pix of our most epic day a few years ago

In Chicago, we used to cut school to see Cubs day games (no lights at Wrigley Field then) and go bowling. Different times; different culture.

I like that - I think I might legally change my name to Vladfucius Laugh Out Loud

Ya, no Cubs games here - I was mostly into beer and girls back when I was a teenager. Actually, I'm still into beer and girls - hmmmmmmmmmmmm...for some people things do not change much Big Grin
