Good Luck today Ira....

enskanker - 2008-02-17 04:57

Hearty cheers and wishes for success in your endeavors today.

Should you find yourself triumphant the day will soon arrive , where your ears will be filled with mellifluous sounds of such power and grandeur you will be as Buzz Aldrin standing on the moon staring at that lovely blue planet so far away, but your thoughts will be of how can it be that the universe has created such a marvelous sounding machine and you had not yet heard its sweet sounds.

Those of us who have experienced this power of sound objectively, know what tonal beauty can be wrested from its ungainly shape by passionate ears makes all other experiences of your life utterly infinitesimal.

I hope you join those of us who have been released from the bonds of the square box and listen outside the box, it will makes us comrades of those who own the best and the greatest.

No big deal, I was sending redbencupajoe best wishes on an auction ending today and now that its in the can, I just wanted to let him know that me and my limp wicks are happy for him.

redbenjoe - 2008-02-17 14:14

ok - here is the story -

for years and more --i had longed to be admired by the likes of uncle ed and joe cool and litfan and royal and all of the most select members
who were so wise to have discovered and bought the panny egg box series from the 90s era

and although these members were very polite -
it was secretly apparent that they all believed
in the notion --
that us eggless members were not much more than crude cave dwellers---

well - now that i just have won an ebay egg -
and thus have moved way up to join these guys in the serious collectors rankings

i plan to remain humble - and to maintain at least some limited contact with the lesser members here who are eggless in their caves

jlf - 2008-02-17 14:17

Big Grin

Im sorry friends... But I will never join you on the dark side!!!

(Unless I hear one and it sounds good of course, nope; on second thought, not even then!)

enskanker - 2008-02-17 14:38

Dear JLF....

Please be open to these suggestions:

* Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction to square boxes - that our collections had become predictable.

* Step 2 - Came to believe that a shape greater than square could restore us to auditory sanity.

* Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our ears and our cassettes over to the care of a Panasonic RX-DT Egg as we understood it.

Dear RBJ (note capitalized moniker) it is my distinct pleasure my friend, to welcome you to The Club! Congratulations on the occasion of winning the auction that has catpulted you from the cave, to the lofty "serious collectors rankings". You have arrived! Big Grin

...and once we had done all that...we opened our ears to the RX-ES wedge and became even more musically enlightened.

JOE COOL -
it must be known that without your years of great coaching and ardent support - this grand celebration would never had happened -

now -- on to THE WEDGE

joe.cool - 2008-02-17 15:19

Well thank you my friend...but I must tell you, the pleasure was all mine! Smile

... ah, gentlemen, some decorum, please. Thats' "hooka pipe" in fine establishments. Not bong, how crude... it's hooka ... for ladies and gentlemen.

peter.griffin - 2008-02-25 12:33

RBJ, congrat's. UE prompted me to buy my first Egg, a RX-DT55. And I just bought a DT75, you will love the sound of these thingsSmile Let's see some pic'sSmile

redbenjoe - 2008-02-25 15:12

thanks peter - i STILL dont have it -- bummer -
but will post the pix when it finally gets here

enskanker - 2008-02-25 15:39

Take your VINIX to bed with you tonight hold it real, real tight, and wish you had an egg in your hands...and tomorrow your Fabled RX will arrive. Works every time.

redbenjoe - 2008-02-25 15:56

my only wish is that every worthy member had a VINIX -- so that we could rejoice jointly in this angelic experience

peter.griffin - 2008-02-25 16:13

Hey Ira, here's a picture of what I think you "won". You'll have one in person soonSmile

redbenjoe - 2008-02-25 16:27

hey peter -- now my other 'only wish' is that mine will sound as good as yours looks --

is that the 75 model ?

mine is the 707 - and it has just 2 speakers per side , instead of the 3 like yours --
but then -- the 707 is supposed to have some rear firing subs --
so, really - i dont even know enough about these eggs to wish correctly !!

how does yours sound compared to your best traditional classic looking boxes -- like your M90 ???

oldskool69 - 2008-02-25 16:29

Put on some shiny red shoes and click your heels together and say over and over:

DT Egg Come Home, DT Egg Come Home, DT Egg Come Home, DT Egg Come Home, DT Egg Come Home.... Laugh Out Loud

peter.griffin - 2008-02-25 16:41

Hey Ira, I heard from a "wiseman", that the 707 sounds better then the 75. What I'm about to say may be "blasphemy", but to tell you the truth, the dt75 sounds better then the m90 at low to medium volume levels. But it also depends on your tastes. The DT75 may sound "compressed" to some, but it's bass is awesome, and it is loud and clear. I've been listening to the same FM station on both, the M90 and DT75. When I go from the DT75 to the M90, the M90 almost sounds bass shy. But at louder volumes, the M90 will beat the DT75Smile

redbenjoe - 2008-02-25 17:05

well - i hope in a few days - i can finally post my very own egg review -- thanks again, peter

enskanker - 2008-02-25 17:27

Seriously, if it does'nt come soon, I mean arrive soon, you still have plenty time to bid on this:

IRA Backup #1

jvc.floyd - 2008-02-25 18:20

hell i think that thing is cool ed ,just wish it had 2 more speakers it would be badd ass

redbenjoe - 2008-02-25 18:21

there is no such box as an egg back-up .
______________
and you might have done the 8-track crowd a big favor for posting that lead --because it might be a serious vintage grail to some member -- ya think

enskanker - 2008-02-26 03:36

Yes, your right, this trick won't work... How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of knobs and woofers so important a biological phenomenon as ones first loved egg?
