and was surprised to find blank audio cassettes bein' sold - no good high quality chrome or metal tapes (just normal bias), but still... Confused

Were they red Maxells?

Yeah, and bottom of the line Sony tapes...

For awhile, I thought the only way you could get blank tapes of any bias was online 'cause spots like Best Buy and Circuit City stopped sellin' 'em years ago. When I saw 'em sittin' there on the rack, I had to stop and marvel at that... I thought about buyin' a pack for old times sake Big Grin , but I don't really like anything lower than chrome.... (Personally, I stopped buyin' blank cassettes when the MD came out - or got somewhat popular - in the late 90's)...

Anyway, if WalMart is still sellin' blank audio cassettes, who else has 'em? Maybe I can get some high quality chrome or metal tapes. Smile

Thrift stores often have brand new still sealed highend tapes from time to time, even 10-tape packs, and reel types, priced anywhere from 25 to 99 cents each. Another source, often offering exotic formulations/brands are flea markets.

Thrift stores with "sealed highend tapes"?... If only they knew that they had high priced eBay gold... Big Grin

Thanks for the tip! Cool

I have no problem finding them at record stores, and source by circuit city. Always get the "strange" look by the check out person, when checking outSmile
