dakota pics

ahardb0dy - 2008-09-27 23:38

these are pics of my 2001 dakota sport 4x4 I used to own, these were taken after I sold the 16" wheels with new Michelin cross terrain suv tires to a guy from clearwater who had 15's and worn Michelins on his older crew cab. A friend of mine suggested I go and take some burnout video but I didn't have a video camera at the time so I took these instead. If you notice closely their is no tag/plate on the truck.

not a dakota pic but this is where my screen name/cb handle came from, as it says in the back window:

hardbody was taken so I added the "a" and replaced the "o" with a "0"

Man, that Nissan is friggin' sweet! I really miss my 1990 extended cab 4x4. That damn truck would go anywhere you pointed it on any terrain. Nod Yes Cool

There's a picture around here of it after I survived a tornado in the truck. I'll post it if I find it.

I Agree Laugh Out Loud

the reason there was no tag is because the wife and I decided to let dodge repo the truck, they told us they would be here to get it in a few days so I took all my stuff out, traded/sold the wheels and tires, took it off the road, and that weekend started to look for a cheap car to use to go back and forth to work, which is where the sentra came from, sorry the $580 sentra that now has over $6000 into it, LOL. The sentra was supposed to be a temp car until I could find another "hardbody", and since I still don't have another "hardbody" tells you that the one I want is hard to locate for the right price. What I would like is a 87-95 SE-V6 4x4 king cab with the manual tranny. I actually found the perfect truck one day on the way home from work, it was just what I wanted, the electric blue color, very low miles, when I asked the salesman how much I almost fainted, $14K for a 95!!!! at the time searching autotrader that would have been the most expensive nissan hardbody for sale in the US, the most expensive one on autotrader was around $7k.. so back to the tag, as I mentioned a friend sugggested some burnout video so when I got home from work that day I grabbed the digital camera and my wife and went up the road to that nice deserted road and did the 2 burnouts, sorry such a long response.

as to how I am, I'm fine I've been transferring old 98.7 kiss and hot 97 mix tapes over to the computer the last couple of days, I ended up using that program someone recommended audacity.
catch ya later, cowboy game is starting gotta go.

fatdog, my wife used to call the nissan the beast cause it hardly ever got stuck and most of the time would be pulling other trucks, sometimes much bigger ones (full size suburban on 36's, stock suburban once in the snow) from being stuck. I had that truck from day one for 14 years, I used to regularly answer questions on the nissan truck forums since I've probably done more and replaced more broke stuff than the average person would ever have on it. Working in a 4X4 shop didn't hurt either as far as aquiring parts and stuff.

freddie, my 01 also had the 4.7 with a custom intake and K&N filter along with a flowmaster cat back exhaust but I replaced the 50 series muffler it came with (too quiet) to a 40 series.

one of the nicer reasons that I like this
model year 2001 that didnt come in later years
100_1147

well I have never done a burnout in my Dakota QC 4x4
because of this little switch here
my transmission is permanantly in 4x4 It doesnt have a
4x2 option but this Dakota will launch 0-60 in 7.5 seconds

here's my untouched engine compartment , except for airfilter an oil changes + filter

nice james, Like I said earlier, I didn't like that color before I bought my dakota but after owning it a few years I started to like it as their wasn't many around that color.

here's a pic of our current Nissan truck:

gee I wish I could explain all of the time that I have spent yelling and screaming at NISSAn for ruining my Hardbody ...
Basically the exterior demension's ( size ) did not change ...
BUT the interior Floor pan did change and that erased 2 inche's of headroom that i enjoyed in the 1985 through 1990 models
Then they changed the FLOORPAN and raised the seating height but never changed the BROUCHURE'S
as they advertised 39 inch's headroom
but I could never measure that in the year model's after 1990 all i could see was 37 inche's

so the dealer saleman's got tired of me coming by wanting to buy what they addvertised in the brouchure as far as the headroom is supposed to be 39 inch's
, I get in the their new truck and my head goes to my chest as I dont fit into them NOW little interior trucks

MY 87 model has 39 inches just fine

which is the main reason why i still have it as i can fit in to it

I am sixfootsix

oh and I love the turning radius as its small and quick

after I took the burnout pics some guy comes by and stops and asks what was going on so I told him I was taking pics for a magazine contest, he tells me "they" don't like people like me around and than notices my county shirt I was still wearing and tells me he was going to call in on me, nothing ever came of it but the road I did that on is about 2 miles long straight with some hills, the area I chose wasn't near any houses and if you looked anywhere else down this road you would see burnout marks everywhere.

As for the Cowboys, f--ckin losers!!!, and thats from a fan!!, lol

ahardb0dy - 2008-09-28 20:38

here's a bad pic of my second car growing up long gone now, it's my 80 (I think) datsun 310 GX, in want to be rally trim, lol, funny when the lights are bigger than the headlights, those 2 big lights (Hella Rally 2000's) are 2 of the 6 that I later mounted on the Hardbody.
