I've looked at it, and as far as I can tell - all I'm going to get is an extra $13 per paycheck - starting in June. Awesome! Roll Eyes

It's nothing great, but it's still better than nothing Wink

How does the $8000.00 credit for first time home buyer work, what are the steps you need to take.

Should one go to their bank and apply for it?

I know you will first need to have a home you're interested in but what next?

Hey Vladi, it goes down to only $8 next year.

So, to sum it up:

This year, we can go eat at Wendy's (like Ramon) instead of White Castle.

Next year, we have to go back to McDonalds.

SUPER YAY!! Roll Eyes

I saw that too! Now I can afford that cup of Starbucks and the $2.50 for the extra shot of milk! Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

Ford, to answer your question - when you buy your first house - you can claim the tax credit on your federal income tax. Also, as far as I understand, you will have to pay it back to the government over the 15 year period - hence *tax credit*, not *tax giveaway* Big Grin

Fatdog and Oldskool - it's not even $8 next year - it's $7.70. So for Fatdog - it's McDonalds, but only dollar menu (just like Ramon likes it Big Grin) - and for Oldskool - you'll have to bring your own milk! Big Grin

But seriously - how is extra $13 dollars is going to help??? Roll Eyes

Maybe they oughta just reproduce M90's to a T and sell em for a reasonable price? Created jobs, and sales in the economy.

Seriously Obama has already done his first military action, (Bombed a town in Pakistan's mountain region) and we only get 13$? HOWWWW about we save that bomb, and up it to the 15$. Next we save the other bomb we are going to drop on a unsuspecting school and up it to 17$. See how this works?

Maybe if some of our government "leaders" would actually pay THEIR taxes, we could get back $20! Roll Eyes Nod Yes

I think Michigan stands to gain about $5.5 billion... for roads, schools, manufacturing, tax credits, etc. I just might be able to stay in this state, after all!

vladi123456 - 2009-02-14 12:57

The fact that the states get funding is really nice. But why insult people by giving them $8?? I can't wait to hear all the jokes on Night Time shows about that....

I can't remember a time when our Goverment has ever managed our money better than us . I think it would be alot better if we just drop all the bull**** spending and just cut our taxes !

Personally, I would've rather had that money ($500) direct deposited into my bank account like they did with the ($600) they gave me last year... I could've bought another boombox with that money.
