Is the car stock or does it have the "police pack" in it? I love those X-Police cars in white with black rims with the small chrome center wheel cap and the big antenna Big Grin.

--gordie -- are you on EST way up there ??

gluecifer - 2009-02-05 13:39

Hahahah! Top stuff Ira.

What are the prices like on after market replacement cigarette lighters?

Rock On.

skippy1969 - 2009-02-05 13:39

Great car Brick. I used to work for Ford as a mechanic when that car was new. They are really good on gas for a full size RWD V-8 car. They older folks get 25-32 mpg with their foot easing on the gas pedal + They are very rugged, built like a truck. And they are easy to work on (brakes, transmission service etc).. I think you got a great deal. That Crown has lots of good quality miles left in it. The Interceptor package has heavy duty shocks and springs,HD cooling,Trans cooler,Dual exhaust, different rear gear ratio than a regular CV + Grand Marquis and a higher top speed limiter.... Wink
Plus.... you'll get the fun of people slamming on there brakes when they see you and think your the real 5 OH...... Big Grin

sinister - 2009-02-05 13:41

so what do ya say......is it the new blues mobile or what

redbenjoe - 2009-02-05 13:52

sinister - 2009-02-05 13:57

Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

btw --let me tell you guys this blues brothers story--------
(sorry is this is all well known , old news)

about 30 years ago --when it first came out --every movie critic dissed it -BAD --so it was a very quick/total box office failure --

and it was off the 'regular' theater scene in no time --
there was no such thing as quick blockbuster type rental places back then --

and - i was all panicked that i had missed it forever Frown Frown

a few weeks later --it was playing at some local $1.00 movie place --where all the 'loser' movies end up-

the reviews were so sh1tty -- i could not even find one friend (or wife) to go with me-

i go , by myself --there's not even 20 people there--
its weird to get hysterical - all alone Laugh Out Loud
but i accomplished that Smile
--------------
i have now read (someplace) that it has become the worlds most popular movie --

or - it SHOULD BE-- Big Grin

amen

we are on a mission from god.
so yeah dodge royal monaco 440 six pack.
nice ride until i spat the drive shaft across the freeway at about a hundred miles a hour.

brick - 2009-02-05 17:03

You guys are too funny man .. Its a full police package car (FP71W) . The late model black wheels don't fit because the offset is different (Bummer) . Not as cool as the Blues Brothers car though ... It does have better brakes , tires , cooling , alternater , drive shaft , dual pipes , and ofcourse the 3.27 traction lock rear end . Big Grin

billpc55 - 2009-02-05 17:20

oh btw.
the police interceptor crown vic will be the ride of choice to replace the current 79 impala if she ever gives up the ghost which from the looks of things wont be anytime soon.

jt - 2009-02-05 17:23

Cool car! Juan (Ford93) is gonna be jealous!

johnnygto - 2009-02-05 17:24

Loves the car, and The Blues Brothers rock!

I was thinking the same thing Ira, when I saw this post, Cop shocks, cop brakes, etc.!!!

Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

I would check under the back seat for "contraband", the people that the cops arrest will try to stash stuff in the car so it doesn't get found on their person.

ford93 - 2009-02-06 10:12

Hey, Brick not bad for the price she just needs a little TLC on the interior.

Dude take off those wheel covers keep the stock rims and go to one of those Hub Cap stores that sells used rims. Normally they sell those center caps for cheap, plus you'll need the lugs that fits them.

A good cleaning, some tints and apply ArmorAll tire foam spray for tires which leaves a cool shine and won't cause the tires to discolor.

She'll look freakin' bad ass! Nod Yes

ghettoboom777 - 2009-02-06 10:31

Hi-not bad, like Ford says with a little cleaning it will look nice.
I'm still cleaning up my Thunderbird LX.The only bummer is I have the 3.8 V-6.
I'd rather have the V-8 because that one in that year was a 5.0 HO!
But my mileage won't be bad though.

I really want the 1968' Mercury Park Lane like Steve McGarret had on Hawaii 5-O.
BTW-my brother had one!! I got to drive it to.
Same color but it had the 390 4-V 315 hp.
It was really, really nice!! Up to 135 and still climbing! Razz
Mcgarret had the 428 4V 335 hp.The real top dog in that car was the 428 Police Interceptor 365hp w/hot cam!! Horsepower came at 5400!!
Wow.
I love cars-can't wait until April when things really warm up to get more cleaning.
Have a super week-GB. Smile Nod Yes

weelanddeal - 2009-02-06 12:51

those ex police cars are nice , i have owned a couple a while back , and the detective cars are always better to buy because these cars were treated much better than the patrol cars were, seeing they usually always had the same driver. goodluck with it it

chilinvilin - 2009-02-06 15:43

I like.....

weelanddeal - 2009-02-06 16:00

my favorite police interceptor is the car from mad max

blaster - 2009-02-06 16:03

nice blue oval... Cool you could probably turn into a Marauder Wink

brick - 2009-02-06 22:39

First of all The Mad Max car was freekin AWESOME ! Even if the "on-off" supercharger was fake . I had a silver 2004 Mercury Marauder before I got my truck and to be honest I don't think it was quicker than this Police car , I mean it was faster above 100 but not below 100 . My Marauder was slow 0-60 , but after 60 it was real strong . I cleaned the Police Interceptor today and here is the new pics .

ford93 - 2009-02-07 04:40

That Lincoln is nice did you sell it and the Marauder too?

The Marauder is one of my favotite!

Your Crown Victoria looks great.

brick - 2009-02-08 14:54

Ya , I traded it in when I got my F250 . It was a nice car though .

928gts - 2009-02-11 11:26

That Crown Vic looks really quite good in that colour,it really does suit it well. Nice find!
