Enjoy the first race of 2009.
looks like a bizzare yet interesting season to come.
electric boost motors ,slicks
eight motors for the whole year.
wow.
so many new rules and odd ones at that.
lets hope that with the eight engine rule there will still be cars competing at the end of season. Big Grin

he will be back. i think they have a bit more competition this year due to the changes, but hamilton will be in the thick soon enough.

Yea, I'm digging F1. Kinda glad to see things get reshuffled a bit. It was getting kind of stagnant with Ferrari/Mclaren always near the front and all the others clammoring for the remaining spots.

I'm really happy for the Brawn team, and that Toyota's efforts are finally paying off. Bummer Honda pulled out, but maybe they were holding back Ross Brawn?

The only new rule I'm not sure if I agree with is the KERS device. It seems like a potential hazzard waiting to happen. If drivers have to be careful getting out of the car so they don't touch the ground at the same time as the car or they could get a 400 volt jolt, its just a matter of time before some pit member, track worker or driver forgets to check that light on the car and ends up getting zapped.

Don't get me wrong, its cool technology for sure... and that's what F1 is all about... but it just seems to potentially hazardous to me. The cars are already fragile enough as it is.

hahaha
i dont think the kers device is really gonna be to much of a hazzard. i mean they are running around a track in something basically the same weight as a mini cooper with seven hundred ponies behind them. back in the seventies i think bmw threw in a car with two thousand brake horse power.
now those were the dangerous times in f1.
kers has been used safely in lemans cars in the part. they will be fine with that.
i dont think its going to be a issue.
it is rather curious to see the remains of the honda team reborn leaner and meaner.
honda should have been a real contender but like toyota in previous seasons they have been really struggling.
it is really strange kick off to the season.
i have no doubt the big boys will be back in the thick soon enough.

I like the new cars, but hate the fact that the chequered flag is now the starting point for whinging, negotiations & calls of "sir, sir, he cheated, he did".
Just stupid.
