Hang in there Jared. Do you see a regular physician? Or are you on that HMO crap where you have to go where they tell you. If you have a PPO you can switch doctors and the insurance should not have any issues and thn you may have a chance at getting to the bottom of it and getting it over with. Smile

at my last place of employment Compaq I had full insurance ,,, more than 8 or 9 years ago and i had a ,,, uh ,,, spell ,,, whatever,,,, so they ? requested that i go to the doc ,,, and after all the dopey doc tests, the doc asked had i ever had a mri? nope, so i had to get a mri of my head ... tne next day , and after that $5000.00 bux procedure as I seen the bill but the insurance paid only $3500.00 as was their standard practice - whatever that means. & I didn't have to pay the ballance so ok, Then Doc prescribed Flonase ... I did that for one day ... I didnt like that stuff in my nose and the next day I was fine ... so no more doc's for me !!!

yep oldy,i'm on an hmo.
i'm switching insurances, this was the straw that broke the camel's back! Wink

ford93 - 2008-08-02 05:53

Well our politicians tells us that the Healthcare in Canada and Europe does not work. I don't know but I'am so sick of hearing the same crap over & over again. No No These politicians take long vacations conducts all kinds of pork barrel & ear marks spending as if it's their money. Mad Americans are getting fustrated and I'm afraid this could reach a very delicate situation.

jaredscottfla - 2008-08-02 07:13

I Agree totally true
Congress gets great insurance coverage and sens and reps are on pensions for life. it is our money.Rep or Dem doesn't matter these fools have no real solution they just bicker and blame ea other. I'm tired of the nonsense,i am switching the new insurance i hope kicks in by the 15th but prob not til the 1st,one good thing the coverage is better for LESS money.
I had what i thought was a reliable and decent plan, but this latest fiasco with the rx drugs and the dr,was enough. Also my kids are on my insurance,i can't be without coverage for too long,g-d forbid something happens. With Kids believe me it always does! Razz
Seniors def have it alot better though,my mom had Heart surgary a few months ago,i saw the bill Surgary,Surgeons Fee,Intensive care and Hospitalization rehab, nurses, drugs etc etc etc,Bill Nrly 300K!! Out of pocket for my Mom(and Me only 400.00 for the ambulance bill),that's it,everything pd thru insurance and Medicare. Thank G-d because a bill like that basically would Bankrupt just about anybody.

ford93 - 2008-08-02 07:54

I feel for you Jared healthcare can be very costly, I know that Doctors need to make a living including Pharmaceutical companies. There's has to be a solution to this crisis and that is cut down on the greed between Doctors, Pharmaceutical co. and Hospitals. It cost a fortune just to lay on a Hospital bed an average of $700 to $900 dollars per day!!

walkgirl - 2008-08-02 08:05

Frown

Imagine how much money does come in at the
incurance companies from peoples who not
often or never need a doctor!! Eek

The same with pensioners, they pay all their
lives and some peoples never reach the pensioners
age, where does that money go?, into the huge office
buidings with the expensive floors and furnitures
Mad

isolator42 - 2008-08-04 10:09

Free healthcare in the UK too.
...not overly convinced on how enjoyable it is.

Or how "free" it is for that matter. I guess it's as free as it is anywhere else in the world that says healthcare is free - i.e. taxes pay for it.
We do have one or two taxes in the UK, but we don't like to talk about it... Smile

Jared has the Dr. given you Augmentin? They often don't prescribe it because it is more expensive than the run of the mill antibiotics.I've had your problem in the past and the augmentin has worked where others have failed. Also if you have taken too much antibiotic in the past you become harder to treat since the bacteria becomes resistent.

Details for
Augmentin is used in the treatment of lower respiratory, middle ear, sinus, skin, and urinary tract infections that are caused by certain specific bacteria. These bacteria produce a chemical enzyme called beta lactamase that makes some infections particularly difficult to treat.

I Agree but the only people that can do anything about it are you me and all of our neighbors. The problem is were not organized enough to do anything but whine about it, the politicians know it so they pretend to be your friend so that you won't organize beyond voting. I'm referring to all politicians and not just one party, we are being raped for our money and the arrogant elitists (politicians) are laughing at us all the way to the bank.
